Sasse Old Boys Association elections: Renowned cardiologist, Dr Fred Kemah, endorses Barrister John Kameni for President.

He said: “I have known John for more than 55 years. Our relationship dates back to our Common Entrance days, when we appeared on the Kameni/Kemah List A. We grew up in the same neighbourhood and share not only a long history of friendship but also common values and principles”.

He described Dr Barrister John Kameni as a well-read intellectual, with a broad outlook on life, noting that: “He has the rare ability to relate comfortably with people from all walks of life and readily accommodates and supports those in need”.

“One of John's outstanding qualities is his willingness to speak his mind in the interest of clearing the air and resolving misunderstandings. He is a brilliant speaker, a natural unifier, and a man whose primary objective is to bring our people together,” Dr Kemah disclosed.

He added that: “John is deeply committed to SOBA and has played a significant role in efforts to reuniting the various factions across the SOBA spectrum. His dedication to reconciliation and unity demonstrates his determination to strengthen our association and restore a common sense of purpose”.

Resilience, enduring love for SOBA, Cameroon

Dr Kemah stated that: “A particularly remarkable aspect of John's character is his resilience and his enduring love for SOBA and Cameroon as a whole. John had the opportunity to settle in the diaspora, but he chose to return home to serve SOBA and his country. This decision speaks volumes about his patriotism, commitment, and willingness to put service above personal comfort”. 

“I therefore appeal to the entire SOBA family, particularly our brothers of great Soppo extraction, to rally behind our own, Dr Barrister John Sichui Kameni, and vote for him as the next President of SOBA. John is a committed and dedicated SOBAN, with a positive track record of service to our association. He possesses the experience, intellect, leadership qualities, and passion needed to move SOBA forward,” he said.

Dr Kemah added that he is confident that with Dr Barrister John Sichui Kameni as President of SOBA, the alumni association can attain new heights in visibility, fundraising, and the successful implementation of major projects, including the renovation and modernisation of Sasse College sickbay.

“This is an opportunity to elect a leader who believes in unity, embraces dialogue, and is committed to the collective progress of our association. Let us stand together and give Dr Barrister John Sichui Kameni the mandate to lead SOBA towards a brighter and more united future,” he appealed. 

About Dr Fred Perry Kemah

Dr Kemah is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council, London, UK as a Consultant Cardiologist with Full License to Practice. He has been a Consultant Cardiologist since 2005. He has extensive international experience and reputation as he is currently operating in the United Kingdom and France. 

The renowned cardiologist developed Advanced Echo cardiology service in South London Hospitals at the Royal Bolton Hospital, and was awarded the title of Honorary Senior Lecturer in Cardiac Medicine by the University of Manchester in 2011, in recognition of his teaching activities at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, UK and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

Dr Fred Kemah is trained in both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic techniques. He covers all areas of General Adult Cardiology with particular specialty in; Chest Pain/Coronary Artery Disease, Palpitations/Arrhythmia, Breathlessness/Heart Failure, Hypertension, Dizziness/Syncope/Blackouts/Faint, Dyslipidemia, Cardiomyopathy (Disease of the Heart Muscle), Valvular Heart Disease, Pericarditis, Fitness to travel in patients with a cardiovascular disorder.

He is also experienced in carrying out investigations in the following areas; Diagnostic Coronary Angiography, Advanced Echo cardiology including Stress Echo and Trans oesophageal Echo, Doctor-Led Exercise Tolerance Test, ECG & Blood Pressure Monitoring and Tilt Test.

He recently earned a distinguished University Diploma in Cardiac Echography from the prestigious University of Sorbonne in Paris, France.

Barrister John Sichui Kameni the man

He is a Barrister-at-law, Solicitor and Notary Public of the Supreme Courts of Cameroon and Nigeria and an International Negotiator. The legal luminary is a member of the Cameroon and Nigerian Bar Associations and member of the Fako Lawyers Association.

Educationally, he earned: LLB Law from University of Yaounde and BL from Nigeria Law School, Abuja, Nigeria. He is also holder of LLM In International Criminal Law from Dundee University in the United Kingdom. He earned a PhD from the University of Buea.
