ART, Orange Cameroun officials at end of working visit

The Telecommunications Regulatory Board, ART, has engaged the management of leading mobile telephone network provider, Orange Cameroun, to ensure continuity and quality in service offered to clients.

This was the focus of a two-day working visit, which officials of ART had at the headquarters of Orange Cameroun in Douala.

This was on October 22 and 23, 2026.

The ART team was led by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the corporation, Prof Justine Diffo Tchunkam. The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Orange Cameroun, Dr Patrick Benon, received the visiting delegation with whom exchanges touched on key issues around network quality, and investments in infrastructure among others.

Reviews during the visit, reports hold, touched on assessing the gap between outlined investments and spinoffs on the quality of services offered citizens.

The ART team was briefed on the achievements of Orange Cameroun, in terms of upping its infrastructure and its development plants.

The ART team was also updated on actions being implemented to address concerns from some members of the public on service quality.

The Prof Diffo team is said to have told Orange Cameroun officials that there is need for Cameroonians to enjoy reliable telecoms services and live high quality user experience.

The visiting team also praised the ground covered and reiterated the need to materialise other outlined programmes in the interest of the public.

Other topics addressed during the two-day review included the evolution of Orange Cameroun’s investments, actions taken to expand network coverage, challenges facing the full deployment of infrastructure and customer experience.

After detailed discussions, most of the exchanges delved into the blueprint of Orange Cameroun to further ameliorate services. There was also a review of the proposals and adoption of a roadmap to guide operations going forward.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Board team later visited the Orange Cameroun Data Centre, where thorough on-site assessments were made.

At the close of the extensive reviews, field visits and listening to Orange Cameroun officials, the regulatory agency team restated the need for measurable and sustainable actions to continue building confidence.
