Kupe-Muanenguba: Minister Elung Paul sets tone for landslide victory for Biya.

Minister Elung addressing party supporters in Bangem

The Minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che, is actively on the ground, giving fresh impetus to campaigns to renew the mandate of the Head of State, Paul Biya, in the October 12 presidential election.

In his native Kupe-Muanenguba Division, in the South West Region, Minister Elung has unveiled a proximity campaign strategy, personally recounting the benefits the Division has reaped from its alliance with the CPDM government, under the esteemed leadership of President Biya.

Over the last week, the die-hard servant and grassroots support mobiliser of the ruling party, has toured the Division, meeting with various groups to reinforce grassroots support for the CPDM candidate at the October 12 poll.

On October 3, 2025, Minister Elung Paul, who is also Vice President of the South West Campaign Team, met and held strategic discussions with traditional rulers, youth groups, women’s associations, and community leaders in Kupe-Muanenguba.

During the meetings, Minister Elung told his Kupe-Muanenguba kith and kin and other residents of the administrative unit that massively voting for President Biya is a vote for continuity of development projects and experience in consolidating peace, social cohesion and national stability.

Speaking to party supporters, sympathisers and a cross section of the population in Bangem and Tombel, Minister Elung, described President Biya as a “Statesman with a proven track record”.

He was clear that at this critical time, the country needs to be entrusted into the “steady hands” of President Biya. He qualified what Biya’s challengers at the October 12 poll are promising as “untested promises”.

Minister Elung advised the population to not to be brainwashed with “empty propaganda and demagoguery” spread by opposition politicians.

He said most of the opposition leaders lack governance experience, something he said President Biya has demonstrated in the past four decades in steering the Statecraft out of troubled waters and ensuring the peace and security of all compatriots.

“We are in front of the race. I hear somebody is selling the idea of an opposition party in Bangem. Nobody should deceive us. Don’t be afraid. We are a winning constituency with 100 percent victory for President Biya,” Minister Elung said.

While reminding all and sundry that Kupe-Muanenguba is now on the sharing table of the national cake, Minister Elung said: “President Biya is the most valued candidate. He is an experienced leader who has a lot of attachments to Kupe-Muanenguba. We have to market him as such to our people”.

He said the Bangem-Nguti Road project is the biggest multi-billion project that was not even programmed in the State budget, but was approved by the Head of State, because of his attachment to the people of the Division.

Elung told the communal campaign committee that as foot soldiers, they should go out with all the tools from the party’s National President, with the sole objective to secure a 100% vote for the CPDM candidate. Minister Elung empowered the team with bails of CPDM party fabric.

Minister Elung’s proximity approach, marked by humility, dialogue, and listening are being hailed as an effective method of political communication and bringing the campaign closer to the people.

Minister Elung’s message with the different groups is said to be resonating among older voters and traditional rulers, youth groups and even women.

Members of the Muslim community, youth, and women leaders, in sperate speeches, have pledged to stand behind Minister Elung to renew President Biya’s mandate.

Through a motion of support that crowned one of the strategic meetings in Tombel, party supporters pledged landslide victory for President Biya. This, they said, is their way of appreciating President for the series of development projects undertaken in Kupe-Muanenguba Division.

Minister Elung’s proximity campaign has consolidated the CPDM base in Kupe-Muanenguba and further solidifying and reinvigorating grassroots enthusiasm and calls for loyalty to President Biya.
