October 12 poll: Baligham CPDM bigwigs set stage for Biya’s landslide victory.

HRM Doh Gahnyam II launching campaigns for Biya’s re-election in Baligham

Grassroots diehards of the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM party, in Baligham, Santa Subdivision of the North West Region, have laid the groundwork for the party’s flagbearer at the October 12 presidential election, Paul Biya, to be given landslide victory. 



After launching campaigns to renew President Biya’s mandate at the helm of the State on Thursday, October 2, party officials have been crisscrossing the village and holding strategic meetings with the population to underscore the need for the community to massively vote for the candidate of the CPDM.

The Mayor of Santa Council, HRM Doh Gahnyam II, who doubles as the president of the campaign team in Baligham zone, presided the launching which was heavily attended by supporters and sympathizers. 

It was attended by other party bigwigs including Chargé de Mission for the campaigns in Baligham zone, Dinga Kingsly; resource person for Baligham zone who doubles as Chargé de Mission for the CPDM campaign committee in Mezam, Henry Babila Voma, among others. 

In his address during the launch, HRM Doh Gahnyam II, who doubles as the traditional ruler of Baligham, recounted the benefits the village has reaped from its loyalty to the CPDM government under the leadership of President Biya.

The municipal authority and traditional ruler told the people to respect the promise they made to him to give President Paul Biya 100% victory in Baligham. 

He told the population that voting President Biya is a clear message of gratitude to the party for his stay at the helm of CPDM-run Santa Council. 

HRM Doh Gahnyam II, a respected CPDM grassroots support mobiliser said renewing the mandate of President Biya through a landslide victory in Baligham is also a way of expressing gratitude for major projects realised in Baligham and lobbying for more. 

He said President Biya, having demonstrated his savvy and foresight in leading the country out of many challenges in the past years, remains the only person in whose hands the country can be entrusted. 

HRM Doh Gahnyam II added that voting for President Biya is also a way to further consolidate the ongoing efforts to restore peace in the restive parts of the country, finalise major development projects underway as well as strengthen the bonds of national unity, social cohesion and living together. 

 

Enter other party officials 

Cueing in, diehard party loyalist, Babila Henry Voma, read out the presidential circular guiding the election of CPDM candidate and urged all to strictly adhere to the instructions. 

Babila also used the opportunity to detail the realisation of the CPDM government in the Baligham. 

He mentioned the two Government Technical and Grammar High Schools, Integrated Health Centres, the National Integration Market for the people of Baligham in Santa Subdivision and those of neighbouring Bagam and Baminyam in Galim Subdivision of the West Region. 

The party official also mentioned the many primary and nursery schools, electricity and potable water scheme as well as major projects to ease movement through construction of culverts, opening of farm-to-market roads among others. 

In separate speeches, the presidents of the youth and women wing of the party assured officials of their readiness to massively vote President Biya, noting that he is the only hope on which Baligham can lean on.

The women particularly thanked all and sundry for defeating fear and massively turning out for the launching. They appealed to party supporters to also massively turn out to vote come October 12.  

On his part, Dinga Kingsly gave supporters detailed explanations relating to party gadgets, the ballot paper of the party and the voting process. He stressed on the need for all to cast their ballots for the party’s flagbearer.
