The President of the Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU party, and lone female candidate at the October 12 presidential election, Hermine Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya, received a heroine’s welcome to the South Region.

She was given reception befitting of her status as she met with party supporters and sympathizers to convince electorates in the region to vote her as Head of State.

Hundreds of UDC supporters from the different parts of the South Region took to the streets to welcome her in grand style.

There was total ecstasy when Tomaino Ndam Njoya arrived at the rally ground late Wednesday evening.

The supporters donned the party’s signature yellow attire, carried banners and placards, proudly declaring their support and commitment to vote her on October 12.

Candidate Tomaino Ndam Njoya also sold her vision for Cameroon to the people of Sangmelima, Ambam, Olamze and those of Kye-Osie, a border locality with Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

She held a grand meeting in Kye-Ossi with a strong mobilisation from party supporters. A video on the candidates verified Facebook page showed enthusiastic supporters pledging support.

One of them carried a banner saying: “UDC we are moving ahead, we will vote for Ndam Njoya”. Others read: “Tomaino for a brighter future”, and also “we want change. Let us vote for the UDC”.

In her address, the CDU flagbearer preached national reconciliation, social justice and nationwide progress. She also presented an ambitious manifesto.

Reacting to her powerful address, the population saluted the vision, consistency and determination of the UDC candidate.

They described candidate Tomaino as a square peg in a square hole, promising to massively turn out and cast their votes in her favour.

The visit to the South Region comes after the caravan of the UDC candidate toured the capital city, Yaounde, where she met with hundreds of Cameroonians canvassing for votes.
