Celebrated Cameroonian dance duo, Daniel Brainless, popularly known as Afro Praise and Wavie Vanessa, who goes by the stage name YV Vans, have taken the world by storm with their unique, fascinating dance styles and moves.



The incredibly talented professional dancers have been making headlines on the global stage following their recent performance in the United States of America, USA. 

The duo was in the North American country on scholarship with the international tap stars and filmmakers, Chloe & Maud Foundation. 

During their stay, Afro Praise and Wavie engaged in life changing programmes with international impact, building bridges of unity, hope, and infinite possibility.

Their exceptional skills caught the attention of top personalities, and several other philanthropic individuals like the National Basketball Association, NBA Champions, both of whom had the opportunity to dance with Daniel and Vanessa in Cameroon.

The also caught the interest of some of the US top media. They were invited on Fox 11 in Los Angeles, NBC Sports and DC Fox. 

It is important to mention that their video dancing with Dallas Mavericks small forward and shooting guard, Klay Thompson, Nigerian-American former professional basketball player, Festus Ezeli, and American dancer and Emmy nominated choreographer, actress, director and producer, Chloe Arnold reached over 30 million people online. 

This has given them more opportunities for future international collaboration and performances.

Afro Praise and YV Vans have been dancing actively for an impressive seven years now. During these periods, they have cemented their place in the dance industry in the country. 

They are actually the best Afro dance academy in Cameroon, the best Afro choreographers and trends regularly on social media. 

Daniel’s dance career has been marked by significant milestones, including performances during the first and second edition of the Cameroon Festival International Roots and Beauty Africa, FIRBA held in Cameroon and Senegal. 

They performed alongside famous dancer and choreographer, Black Cheugah and the legendary Senegalese singer, Wally Seck. 

They also worked together to create an enviable choreography that helped them to win an online dance competition organized by Cameroonian and Nigerian artists Schengen and Zlatan. They have also featured on several Cameroon dance videos. Daniel's work gained him other prestigious recognitions, media visibility on Canal 2 International and the Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV. 

 

Honouring Cameroon’s culture

Afro Praise, and YV Vans, say they are keen on honouring the culture of their country at the global stage through their dance steps.
