Guinness Super League: FC Ebolowa, Lekie Filles extend title race to final matchday.

Lekie Filles lost the 2023/2024 crown to FC Ebolowa on head-to-head considerations

Defending champions, FC Ebolowa and Lekie Football Filles will settle the battle for the winners’ crown in the ongoing women’s first division championship on the final matchday.

The two title contenders registered slim one nil away victories during match day 21 actions in the Guinness Super League competition over the weekend, leaving the teams with a difference of one point as they head to the final match day.



League toppers, FC Ebolowa, came out with a 1-0 victory over Authentic Ladies Football Club of Douala. Lekie Filles registered a 1nil win over Éclair Football Files.

Following the results, FC Ebolowa moved up to 55points while Lekie Filles moved to 54points. The point count means the two clubs will decide winner of the competition during the last matchday which is scheduled to take place between Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21.

FC Ebolowa will entertain Center Region outfit, Vision Foot during the final day action while Lekie Filles will faceoff with in-form newcomers, Cyclone Football Club of Douala. 

The ongoing title race is a remake of what transpired in the competition between the two outfits last season. FC Ebolowa won the 2023/2024 crown on head-to-head advantage after the two teams ended the race totaling the same number of points. 

 

Louves breaks into top four 

Elsewhere, Centre Region team, Louves MINPROFF, climbed from the eighth to the fourth spot after securing a 1-0 win over sister club, Amazone FAP.

The club now has 30points after 21 matches to sit ahead of North West Region team, Ita Mbong Football Club of Nkambe. Ita Mbong staged a 1-1 draw with Vision Foot during the weekend actions.

Cyclone confirmed its relegation safety after coming through with a 2-0 win over Dja Sports. Before the fixture, the Littoral Region team was placed 9th on the standing, four points above the drop zone.
