Elecsports Limbe crowned SW regional league champions.

The team secured the title last Saturday after hammering cross-town rivals, CINYODEV Football Academy 5nil. The match was played at the Middle Farms Stadium in Limbe.

The comprehensive victory saw the Fako Division team completing what had been a hugely smooth season for the selection.

The club rounded up the campaign without losing any of the overall 13 matches that it disputed.

It qualified for the knockout phase after topping Group B following a run of eight victories and two draws in the pool which also comprised of CINYODEV of Buea and former Elite One championship giant and Cup of Cameroon title holder, Mount Cameroon Football Club of Buea.

The team claimed a ruthless 4-0 victory over Manyu United Football Academy in the quarterfinals and registered the same dominant score over Options Sports Academy of Limbe in the semifinals to advance to the final. 

The club’s lead striker, Daniel Etinge bagged the golden boot award in the competition for the campaign after scoring 12 goals during the season.

CINYODEV’s full-back, Ashu Kingsley clinched the Player of the Season award. 

His teammate, Asong Clinton, took home the Goalkeeper of the Season trophy after playing a decisive role in leading CINYODEV to what historically marked the side’s maiden appearance in the final of the SW regional league showpiece.

Elecsports will be up against 11 other teams during the forthcoming National Interpools competition where two qualification tickets to the second division football championship will be up for grabs.

The selection will aim to become the fourth outfit from the South West Region to qualify for the Elite Two competition in the last five years.

It will be in line to join a list that includes Victoria United of Limbe, ISOHSA of Limbe and Kumba City Football Club who qualified for the second-tier championship via the National Interpools in 2022, 2023 and 2025 respectively.

In case of the club’s qualification, the number of teams representing the South West Region in the men’s elite football championship will increase to three during the 2026/2027 season with the selection joining Kumba City FC and Victoria United who compete in the Elite Two and Elite One respectively.
