Gunmen kill three persons at drinking spot in Bamenda.

The victims of the incident comprised two men and a woman. Reports hold that the gunmen stormed the spot, looking for the owner who had escaped but ended up opening fire, killing the three persons, scattering bottles and crates.

The woman killed in the incident was said to be an egg vendor who branched to the incident scene to sell to a customer. Several other persons wounded were rushed to a health facility. 

Locals expressed fear that the casualty from the incident could rise. As we went to press yesterday, the identities of those killed had not been established.
Yesterday’s incident happened days after a commercial motorcycle rider was killed at Centre Bolt neighbourhood still in Nkwen. 

Bamenda has been battling to survive a separatist-imposed lock down for over one week since the 2026/2027 academic year went underway.

On Saturday, three other persons were shot and killed in Ekona, Fako Division of the South West Region on the Kumba-Buea road. 

The victims were said to be in a vehicle headed for Kumba when a gunman reportedly opened fire, killing them.

Security officers are alleged to have in turn neutralised the gunman after the monstrous gunman as he attempted to escape the crime scene.

Over the years, people have been killed, wounded or kidnapped during ghost towns and lockdown operations. Some victims often regain freedom after their families paid huge ransoms.
