NW regional league: Option Sports faces Ita Mbong in mini interpools opener today.

Ita Mbong Football Club of Nkambe

Option Sports Academy of Bamenda will entertain Ita Mbong Football Club of Nkambe this Wednesday in the opening match of the playoff phase of the North West Regional Football League.

The game will be held at the Bamenda Proximity Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 10am.



The showdown will serve as one of the four matches that are set for Wednesday counting for the first leg of the quarterfinals phase of the regional showpiece.

The North West regional arm of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, FECAFOOT North West, published the fixtures yesterday following the conclusion of the group phase of the competition last weekend.

Option Sports qualified after finishing top of Group A while Ita Mbong Football Club placed second in Group C.

Option Sports which is battling to secure its second crown in three seasons, lost just one of the 12 matches in the group phase series.

The reigning vice champions totaled 29points after it won nine of its matches after locking horns with the likes of 2018 champions Rainbow football club of Bamenda.

Former Elite Two team, Ita Mbong Football Club garnered 30points after registering nine victories, three draws and two defeats in the 14 games that it played in Group C which comprised of seven clubs.

 

 

Dream Team to challenge Nkwen FC

Defending champions Dream Team Football Club will be up against Nkwen Football Club.

Dream Team will enter the 2pm-scheduled fixture as the outright favorite owing to its status as reigning champions and the superiority that it has demonstrated since the start of the season.

The club concluded the group stage without losing any of the 14 matches that it played in Group B where it totaled 34 points.

The side won 11 and drew three of the matches in the pool which also had other familiar names like Momo United Football Club and All Stars Football Club.

Nkwen Football Club qualified as the runner up in Group D after posting a similarly dominant run of 12 victories, a loss and a defeat in 14 matches.

Before Dream Team's clash, Rising Stars Football Club of Tubah will faceoff with Rainbow Football Club of Bamenda at 12pm.

Rising Stars will be the favorites in the duel.  The club will enter the series looking to source inspiration from the mind-blowing run of 11 victories and three draws that it registered in the 14 matches that it disputed in Group B.

The side totaled 36points in the group, the highest in the entire group phase series.

Rainbow garnered six victories and two draws to completed the first round sitting second in Group A after losing four of its 12 matches.

 

 

Momo Utd up against Mankon Utd 

Momo United will entertain Mankon United at 4pm in the last of the four first leg quarterfinals showdowns on Wednesday. Mankon United are tipped favorite in the clash.

The selection was unbeaten during the group phase after it bagged 11 victories and played a draw in the other of the 12 matches that it disputed in its pool D which also included former champions Hilltop Strikers of Bamendakwe.

The winners of the four quarterfinals will progress to the semifinals.

The champion of the competition will represent the North West Region in the 2026 National Interpools.
