Cameroon Int’l Cycling Tour German wins stage five, claims yellow jersey.

The 126.4-km long stage was held from Bafia in the Centre Region to Bangangte in the West Region.

Charrois did the race in three hours, 24 minutes and eight seconds. 

He completed the series sitting 15 seconds ahead of Mimouni Oussama Abdellah of the Algerian National Team.

Mimouni Oussama’s compatriot and teammate, Said Nassim placed third after completing the race 37 seconds after the stage winner.

Cameroon’s finest performer for the stage, Mouhamed Ibrahim came one minute and seven seconds behind to rank eighth.

Kuere Nounawe Rodrigue of SNH Velo Club who started the fifth stage as holder of the yellow jersey following his domineering performance since winning the Maroua-Mora-Maroua first stage, ranked nineth.

The performance had the Cameroonian losing the leader’s jersey to Charrois who started the race on Monday sitting third on the general classification.

“I am very happy with the result. I did not expect it. The race was very challenging,” Charrois stated after the race. 

Three-time champion, Clovis Kamzong Abossolo, of the SNH Velo Club completed the race on the 11th position while his compatriots, Tientcheu Boris and Ngah Justice, both of the Cameroon National Team, placed 12th and 13th respectively. 

The competition is expected to continue this Tuesday with stage six. 

The 110km-long series will be held in the format of a criterium across Douala in the Littoral Region. 

Team Cameroon is battling to reclaim the prestigious yellow jersey of the international cycling championship following its struggles in last year’s edition. 

The 10-stage 2026 competition which got underway last Wednesday June 3, ends on Sunday June 14 with the Mbalmayo-Yaounde stage in the Centre Region covering a distance of 115.7kms.
