At annual confab & New Year wishes ceremony: Public service minister says completion of AIGLES key 2026 target.

The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Le, has said the ministry’s 2026 priority is anchored on the completion of work on the final two modules of the Payroll and Personnel Management Application Software known by its French acronym as AIGLES.



He made the declaration in Yaounde on Friday, January 30, during the annual conference of central and devolved services of the ministry. It rounded up with New Year wishes to the minister. 

The annual confab was under the theme: “AIGLES: One year of service to the Cameroonian public administration within the context of the rise of artificial intelligence: appraisal and perspectives”.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret Ndongo; the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Jean De Dieu Momo; and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Public Works in Charge of Roads, Armand Ndjodom, attended the new year wishes part of the event. 

Minister Joseph Le in his address, hailed the 2025 strides, particularly noting that the AIGLES project has been a huge success since it was effectively launched in January 2025.

He said despite hailing the ground covered so far been, the completion of works on the AIGLES project through the launch of its biometric and electronic archiving modules remains priority for the year. 

Minister Joseph Le said the two modules are expected to enhance data reliability, secure administrative processes and generally improve the management of public servant files. He said it will fully arm the ministry with the required tools to ensure smooth functioning of public service. 

He said the biometric system will also provide the ministry with an effective attendance monitoring tool and put the ministry in a strong position to tackle the chronic phenomenon of absenteeism. 

Minister Joseph Le said the ministry will exploit everything avenue to reach the target which he noted is a strong part of the responsibility that has been assigned to the ministry by the Head of State, Paul Biya.

“All of this will enable us to achieve the strategic objective assigned to us by the Head of State, namely to ‘guarantee the population a quality service with a view to economic and social development, safeguarding the public interest and the interests of citizens’,” he stated.

 

Expresses gratitude to collaborators 

Minister Joseph Le also expressed gratitude to his collaborators and staff for contributing in ensuring the success of the institution since 2018 when he was appointed to the ministry.

He also saluted the enthusiasm, commitment and determination with which staff continue to deliver public service on a daily basis.

Drums renewed commitment among staff

Despite expressing hailing output of staff, Minister Joseph Le emphasised the need for collaborators to remain fully committed in the exercise of their duties. 

He drummed the need for staff to consolidate efforts in ensuring that other operations that the ministry is involved in are successful.

“I therefore urge you to get down to work, under the coordination of the Secretary General, who will ensure even stricter compliance with the principles and values of administrative ethics and professional conduct, in order to achieve the objective, we set out above, namely: to make the user of the civil service king,” Minister Joseph Le stated.

 

Ministry bids farewell to retired staff 

The member of government also led the ministry in bidding farewell to some of the institution’s staff who recently retired. 

The list was headlined by Monique Constance Ndongo, who before retiring recently, had climbed the ladder to the position of Inspector No.2.

Minister Joseph Le described the retired inspector whose services earned her the distinction of the knight of the Order Valour, as an emblematic figure who stood out as an embodiment of selflessness and state rigor.
