Players of the men’s senior national football team of Cameroon, have returned to their respective clubs after their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON exit.

The team lost to host nation Morocco in the quarter-final 2-0 on Friday January 9 in Rabat, Morocco.

While some of the players have already been in action with their respective clubs, others are resuming training progressively ahead of upcoming fixtures later this week.

Indomitable Lions forward, Karl Etta Eyong, featured for his team in their 1-1 home draw against Espanyol. This was during matchday 19 of the La Liga in Spain.

Etta Eyong played for 10 minutes in the stalemate. He has missed four games with the team due to his participation at the AFCON. He scored the team’s first goal in the competition in a slim 1-0 win over Gabon during their group F opener.

During that time, Levante have greatly missed their striker with only one win in four games. The team has also dropped to 19th spot in the relegation zone. They are now four points from safety.

Etta Eyong will hope to help his team return to winning ways when they face Real Madrid this weekend at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It should be recalled that Etta Eyong is currently Levante’s highest goal scorer with six goals. He has also registered the most number of assists.

Still in Spain, defender Enzo Boyomo, joined the rest of the teammates at Osasuna to train ahead of their game today against Real Oviedo.

Boyomo is expected to start the game which could see his team move into the top half of the table. Boyomo last featured for Osasuna in a 2-0 defeat to leaders FC Barcelona before joining the Cameroon national team for the AFCON.

The 24-year-old centre-back has started in all 16 games for Osasuna this season and has scored once.

Bryan Mbeumo returned to England and is currently enjoying a two-days rest.

He is expected to resume training with Manchester United tomorrow ahead of their crunch tie against rival Manchester City at Old Trafford.

Without Mbeumo, the Red Devil have failed to win any of their last four games.

They drew three games in a row and were also knocked out of the FA after a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Two other Cameroonian contingents in England, Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Junior Tchamadue of Stoke City in the Championship are also likely to be in action this weekend.

In France, Cameroonians players; Danny Namaso of Auxerre, Franck Magri of Toulouse, Mahamadou Nagida of Stade Rennes, Dina Ebimbe of Stade Brestois and FC Lorient duo of Darlin Yongwa and Arthur Avom are back to training.

It is the same for Cameroon’s highest goal scorer at the 2025 AFCON, Christian Kofane of Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

A majority of these players are expected to feature for their clubs this weekend.
