After attending Biya’s swearing-in, Unity Palace dinner: Fon Ju salutes Biya’s pledge to prioritise women, youth.

The traditional ruler of Koshin village in Fungom Subdivision, Menchum Division of the North West Region, His Royal Majesty, HRM, Fon Ju Wilson, has hailed President Paul Biya for announcing plans of prioritising youth and women in his new seven-year mandate.

The monarch and serial businessman gave the commendations Thursday November 6 on the sidelines of a state-sponsored dinner. The dinner was organsised shortly after President Biya’s inauguration earlier same day at the National Assembly.

The State House dinner was graced by the presence of a key figures including national and foreign dignitaries as well as traditional authority.

Fon Ju Wilson’s presence at Biya’s swearing-in ceremony at the National Assembly and the exclusive reception at the Unity Palace, was a powerful demonstration of the unwavering support for the Head of State from the North West traditional elite, even amid complex security challenges in the region.

Speaking to the press shortly after the ceremonial events, Fon Ju Wilson lauded the President Biya’s inaugural address, highlighting its focus on key social concerns.

The custodian of tradition expressed particular satisfaction with President Biya’s emphasis on youth and women empowerment and protection, areas, he believes are critical for the nation’s long-term stability and growth.

"The President’s address was a clear and concise roadmap for the next seven years. We, as traditional leaders, are particularly heartened by his commitment to our youth and women. These are the engines of our villages and the key to solving many of the social issues we face today," Fon Ju Wilson stated.

He then asserted that President Biya "remains the father of the nation and is ready to steer Cameroon to emergence by 2035".

The political endorsement from a traditional authority from one of the regions most affected by the socio-political crisis, observers say, sends a clear message of faith in the government's approach.

Fon Ju Wilson’s significance lies in his dual identity. Not only is he the respected Fon of Koshin, maintaining order and culture in his ancestral village, but he is also a senior Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, MINDCAF official, serving as a Land Registrar in Douala.

The unique position allows the Fon to serve as a vital link between the grassroots community of the North West and the nation's economic capital, where many of his subjects reside and contribute to the country's development.

His presence at the highest levels of State ceremony symbolizes the unified contribution of both the traditional authority and the administrative service to the national cause.

The Fon’s active participation is a reflection of Koshin village's own political commitment.

As a village located in the remote Fungom subdivision, it relies heavily on the hope of government investment and attention.

By standing with the vision of the Head of State, Fon Ju Wilson ensures that the voice and needs of Koshin and the wider Menchum Division are represented at the highest echelons of power.

His journey from Douala, where he carries out his vital civil service duties, to Yaoundé for the inauguration, underscores the nationwide network of support that contributes to the regime's endurance.
