The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has justified Yabassi’s continuous support for Biya.

The minister was speaking at a campaign rally held October 11 in the town of Yabassi in the Littoral Region.

The rally was organised by the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM. The CPDM delegation to the rally was led by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.

The delegation had visited the Bona’anja locality in Yabassi Subdivision of the Nkam Division, where he called on residents to renew their trust in incumbent President Paul Biya.

Professor Mouelle Kombi, who was also as the communal campaign president in the Yabassi Subdivision, used the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Biya administration in the region and across Cameroon.

Speaking to reporters, he emphasised the symbolism of their visit to the valley of Wouri, an area he described as deeply emblematic in Cameroon’s history.

“In this proximity campaign of the CPDM in favor of our candidate, President Paul Biya, here in the Wouri valley located in the southern part of Yabassi Subdivision, we are in a place that carries historical and symbolic importance,” the minister stated.

“It bears the name of the river that gave birth to Cameroon, the very matrix of our nation…,” he said.

He explained that the delegation came to share a message of loyalty, fidelity, and responsibility with the local populations, who have long shown unwavering support to President Paul Biya and benefited from the fruits of his leadership.

Prof Mouelle Kombi pointed out that despite being an area once considered isolated, recent developments have improved accessibility and living conditions for the people of the valley.

“Many of the people who attended this rally came here through river transport, navigating on authorized canoes along a well-constructed waterway. You can see that the population, from dozens of surrounding villages, responded massively,” he said.

The minister highlighted several government projects that have transformed the area. He said other projects are ongoing while many more will come in the nearest future.

According to him, the projects will ease mobility and open up several villages within the Nkam Division. He also mentioned the rural electrification initiatives powered by solar energy in the different villages in the subdivision.

The projects, he said, reflect the government’s commitment to promoting inclusive development even in the most remote communities.

In addition to infrastructure, Minister Mouelle Kombi pointed to educational and research advancements in the area, including a nursery and public primary school, as well as a tropical aquaculture research center affiliated to the University of Douala through its Institute of Sciences.

“These are tangible proofs of President Paul Biya’s vision for sustainable development,” he stressed.

“The people here know that it is through the president’s leadership that progress and modernization have become visible realities, and they believe the best is yet to come,” he added.
