Prudential Beneficial showcases fair play, integrity at AFCON 2022.

Wilf Blackburn and Eddie Ford Brown handing Fair Play Award to Kalidou Koulibaly

Prudential Beneficial, the official insurance sponsor of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2021, showcased its values of fair play and integrity during the tournament.

It should be noted that after the final between Senegal and Egypt at the Olembe stadium in Yaounde, Wilf Blackburn, CEO of Prudential Insurance Growth Markets and Eddie Ford Brown, Regional CEO, Prudential Francophone Africa, handed the Fair Play Award to the captain of Senegal, Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to Prudential Beneficial “football is a game of passion: This passion is portrayed through many ways both on and off the pitch, it can be through playing by the rules, respecting match officials, speaking out against discrimination and respecting opponents during the match”.

“Prudential believes in playing fair and with integrity in everything we do, that is why we are pleased to celebrate Senegal for exhibiting the highest form of sportsmanship throughout the tournament,” the renowned insurance company indicated.

As the official insurance sponsor of TotalEnergies AFCON 2021, Prudential Beneficial demonstrated its desire to support the development of football as a professional activity and also to participate in the detection and promotion of talents in Africa.

By supporting football, Prudential intends to participate in the development of Africa.
This development, it says, requires support for to countries in setting up sports infrastructure in general and football in particular, which provides millions of jobs.

It is for this reason that Prudential’s Chief Operation Officer of Prudential Africa, Nick Holder, in an interview to the media during the opening match of AFCON 2021, said: “We have made the commitment to take an active part in the development of sports in Africa and what better way to do it than by sponsoring the 33rd edition of the AFCON”.
Beyond sponsorship, the company also aims at making Africans aware of the importance of practicing sports in order to have a healthy lifestyle.

“It is very important for Prudential not only to do business in Africa but also to promote ideals that will enable the continent to accelerate its development. Among these ideals we have, among other things, the practice of a regular sporting activity which allows you to always be in good health,” Nick Holder added.

This perspective, he noted, will not just stop with the AFCON but will continue with many other major sporting events in Africa that will allow Prudential to promote these ideals of well-being and health.
