He made the pledge during a campaign rally in Buea on Sunday, October 5.

Addressing supporters and sympathisers, Iyodi who is the youngest presidential candidate promised to ensure ‘separatist fighters lay down their weapons within the first 100 days in office.

“…as the Head of State, we will start a serious and transparent dialogue with our brothers and sisters in the North West and South West Regions including those who have chosen the path of violence,” Iyodi said, adding that: “Peace will return to our towns and villages, within 100 days, guns will be silent and dialogue will replace violence”.

He reminded party faithful that he was not only building a movement for the presidential election but something that is long-term.

Young Cameroonians, he said, should vote for him because as a young person, he understands their challenges better.

“The young people should vote for me because I look like them and understand perfectly what they are going through, their struggles finding a job and the crisis in this region,” Iyodi assured.

He added that the fertile soils of the South West coupled with the strength and resilience of its youth are an asset he would exploit for the long-term development of agriculture.

“…the South West Region has fertile soils and young people and thus this Region will be one of the areas for our agro industrial plan,” he insisted.
