October 12 poll: Hiram Samuel Iyodi takes campaign to Yaounde streets.

FDC teams canvassing voters on Y’de streets

The flagbearer of the Cameroon Democratic Front, FDC party, Hiram Samuel Iyodi, has mobilised thousands across major streets in Yaounde to vote him on October 12 as Head of State.

On Wednesday, October 1, he took his campaign message of change to citizens. Alighting the train from Ngaoundere at the Yaounde railway station, Samuel Iyodi embarked on a tour that stretched through Marche Centrale, Polytechnique, Emia, Bastos, and several other neighbourhoods.

Flanked by party supporters, he stopped frequently to interact with vendors, taxi drivers, students, bike riders and passers-by.

At each stop, Samuel Iyodi presented his vision of a greater, better, and more developed Cameroon.

His team not only outlined the FDC’s policy proposals but also carried out voter education, explaining to citizens how to identify the colour of their voter’s card and prepare for election day.

“We will go where Cameroonians are, because it’s together that we must build,” Iyodi declared, stressing that the country’s future rests on collective effort.

The candidate insisted that his campaign is built on inclusion, with particular focus on empowering young people and women in governance.

According to his team, their outreach strategy is different. Not focusing rallies, they said their candidate has chosen to meet citizens in their daily environments, offering direct conversations about their concerns.

Supporters say the approach sets him apart as a candidate who wants to stay close to the people he seeks to represent.

The FDC candidate continued his grassroots campaign in Douala, where he was expected to hold a mega meeting at Rond Point Deido yesterday.
