October 12 poll: Candidate Tomaino storms markets in Y’de, rallies supporters.

The presidential candidate of the Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU, has toured some major markets in the nation’s capital city, Yaounde, to galvanise supporters to vote her as Head of State in the October 12 election.

The lone female candidate at the upcoming presidential poll embarked on the day-long activity yesterday.

The CDU candidate visited the Elig-Edzoa, Essos, Mfoundi and about five other markets yesterday to canvas for votes.

As her caravan made its way through the bustling streets of the various markets, it was warmly greeted by a mammoth crowd that came out to welcome them.

During her various stops in these markets, Ndam Njoya shared her party’s flyers and interacted with the population. She seized the occasion to engage directly with vendors, sizing up their flights and assuring them of better days ahead if she is voted.

Tomaino listened to the concerns of the people and shared her vision for the community. She challenged Cameroonians to vote for the CDU, outlining massive reforms if elected President of the Republic.

Tomaino launches campaigns

It is important to mention that the visit to the various markets comes barely 48 hours after the presidential candidate officially launched her campaigns.

This was at a massively attended rally at the esplanade of the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde on Saturday, September 27. It was attended by hundreds of supporters and others.

During the rally, the CDU candidate is quoted to have said that: “Cameroon is entering a new era. The time has come to choose unity over division, hope over fear, the future over the past”.

It is important to mention that the UDC finished fifth during the 2018 presidential elections. The party scored 1.73% and was led by its founding president, Adamou Ndam Njoya, of blessed memory.
