The Nfon of Kumba and Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw, His Majesty Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, has rallied the population of Kumba Chiefdom and Bafaw indigenes in Meme Division, to massively vote for President Paul Biya, during the October 12 presidential election.

Nfon Mukete IV was speaking in the courtyard of his palace, on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

This was during the installation and induction of some 60 newly-appointed Quarter Heads in the various neighbourhoods of Kumba Chiefdom.

The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, among whom were the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, of Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou'ou Ndong; President of the South West Regional Assembly, Zacheus Bakoma Elango; Chief of Mbonge Marumba and Paramount Ruler of Mbonge Clan, His Majesty Chief Daniel Matta Mokambe, who is also the Mayor of Mbonge Council; the Mayors of Kumba I, II, and III Councils; traditional authorities, as well as a cross-section of the population of Kumba.

Nfon Mukete IV told the Quarter Heads not make error as far as the CPDM is concerned, and called on all to cast their votes for President Biya, come October 12.

He revealed that the Nfon's Palace has been the greatest contributor to the party in Meme Division in over 40 years.

"This is not to get something, but because its leader is the best," Nfon Mukete said.

To him, Meme Division is a safe zone, thanks to the SDO, his collaborators and defence and security forces. He said the peace being enjoyed is as a result of President Paul Biya, with wisdom from God Almighty, to set up a special force in Kumba.

He noted that all the political parties going for the presidential election are talking about peace and enjoined all the Quarter Heads to work with the government to avoid chaos. The Nfon used the event to call on all to shun hate speech and xenophobia.

“We want Meme Division to stand together. It should stand together in comparable peace in order to build an admirable Division," he said.

Nfon Mukete IV, reflecting on the event, said it was something his late father would have loved to see, noting that the attires put on by various individuals and groups, make them proud of the Bafaw tradition and culture.

He insisted that the essential part of their culture is being friendly, welcoming, reason Kumba is full of diversity.
