Grassroots political heavyweight and boss of the ruling CPDM party in Lebialem Division of the South West Region, Minister Paul Tasong, has rallied thousands of sons and daughters of the administrative unit to massively vote for the Head of State, Paul Biya, in the October 12 presidential election.

This was during a Joint Lebialem CPDM Section Conference. The gathering took place Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Wabane.

The confab brought together officials and supporters of the Lebialem I, II, and III Sections of the ruling party.

As boss of the CPDM in Lebialem Division, Minister Tasong also reminded the people of the need to work to give President Paul Biya a resounding victory in the October 12 presidential election.

Tasong, who doubles as Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, MINEPAT, in charge of Planning, told his Lebialem kith and kin that the only way to appreciate President Biya for what he is doing in the administrative unit is to give him a landslide victory, come October 12.

He also used the event to drum the need for peace across Lebialem to guarantee sustainable development.

Minister Tasong delivered a message of hope to the population, assuring the people of government’s commitment to enhance the development of their communities.

He said not long from now, every household within the Division would have access to reliable electricity.

“Electricity will come to every household in Lebialem Division,” Minister Tasong assured the population at the gathering.

The minister also assured that roads across Lebialem would be made accessible year-round, to boost circulation, trade and development.

“We are back and we will make sure the main roads into Lebialem Division are passable year-round,” he promised.

The minister also appealed to the population of Lebialem to join initiatives to ensure effective schooling, especially the reopening of schools that have been shut since the start of the crisis in the English-speaking Regions.

“We are back because we want to make sure schools in Lebialem are open and the children are going to school. This is what President Paul Biya wants. He wants a Lebialem that is back,” he told the population.

In the course of the Joint Section Conference, the minister also offered inputs to farmers. The member of government said the offer is part of government’s commitment to boost the yields of farmers.

Participants praised the minister for mobilising the population to talk peace, development and prepare the Division to renew its support for Candidate Biya.
