Minister Mengot initiates move for Biya’s landslide victory in Manyu.

Minister Mengot Victor addressing CPDM supporters in Mamfe last Friday

The Minister in charge of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic, H.E Victor Arrey-Nkongho Mengot, who doubles as the CPDM Permanent Delegation leader for Manyu Division, in the South West Region, has rallied thousands of CPDM supporters to ensure a resounding re-election of President Paul Biya, come October 12, 2025.

This was the focus of a grand meeting in Mamfe, on Friday, September 5. In his capacity of Head of the Permanent Divisional Delegation of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in Manyu, Minister Mengot underscored the imperative of this year’s presidential election.

During the meeting, participants reviewed preparations and general mobilization, weeks to the election. He told the thousands of supporters in attendance, that with “…the weight of responsibility resting upon our shoulders, history calls once again on the proud people of Manyu Division to rise to the occasion and reaffirm our unshakable loyalty and unwavering commitment…to the ruling party.”

Manyu Division, Minister Mengot stated, is determined to maintain its massive support for the CPDM and the Man of November 6, 1982, Paul Biya, for the sake of stability, peace and prosperity.

Under the current regime, he underscored, Manyu sees its common interest that aligns with the vision Biya has for Cameroon.

Widely-saluted for playing a key role in the normalcy that has returned to Manyu, and for his unmatched financial contribution to the growth of the CPDM in the Division, Minister Mengot drummed unity, collaboration and dialogue to further enhance grassroots support for the ruling party.

With barely weeks to the October 12 presidential election, Minister Mengot reminded all that there is need for work that goes beyond the successes of the days of yore.

“…this meeting is not about celebrating past successes, but about meticulously analysing our strengths and weaknesses, identifying potential challenges, and formulating a robust and comprehensive strategy to overcome them,” the adorable member of government noted.

The minister added that: “We must engage in frank and open dialogue. We must share our insights, our concerns, and our innovative ideas”.

‘Victory doesn’t come by chance’

Described as the political Kingmaker and political encyclopedia of Manyu, Minister Mengot restated that Manyu is working hard to ensure that when the votes are counted after the October 12 poll, “the Division will, once again, be painted in bold CPDM colours, with numbers that speak louder than words”.

Such a feat in a democracy, he stated, doesn’t come by chance. According to him, “it is the result of meticulous planning, relentless mobilisation, and collective action”.

With the work on ground, history he said, will retain “that when the call came, Manyu Division answered. Let it be known that this Division stood tall and delivered a resounding CPDM victory, one that will echo from Mamfe to Yaounde and beyond”.

Aggressive campaign tactics

Bringing those in attendance to the consciousness of what lies ahead, the Manyu CPDM boss made public what he said are “pillars” that must be followed to give President Biya a resounding victory, come October 12. Among them, Minister Mengot prescribed grassroots outreach moves that must touch every village, quarter and home in Manyu.

He insisted that: “This is the time to reinvigorate party cells, reawaken the base, and ensure that our message is understood and owned by the people. The CPDM must be visible, vocal, and vibrant across all corners of Manyu”.

The Special Duties Minister enthused that everyone must embrace unity and collaboration to hit the goal of Manyu giving President Biya 100 percent victory at the poll.

Another strategy which he introduced participants to, last Friday, was “retail politics” that involves canvassing for votes through door-to-door. In this regard, Minister Mengot said, “names and faces matter. Let us deploy teams of trusted mobilisers to engage with voters personally, explaining the party’s achievements and future plans, and countering disinformation”.

On media and messaging, the Manyu CPDM boss prescribed efficiency, coherence and coordination. Such, he said, is “to tell our story boldly and clearly”.

As preparations heighten in readiness for campaigns, he insisted that: “We must frame this election around continuity, stability, peace, and progress- values that the CPDM embodies”.

Urgent need for inclusive campaign

In the vast quest to convince the population and market Candidate Biya in the best ways possible, Minister Mengot reminded everyone on the need for inclusion.  Giving women and youths a place in the campaign, he said, is indispensable.

“…the youth and women are not only the future, they are the present. Our campaign teams must empower them with roles and responsibilities; ensuring they are fully integrated into mobilisation efforts,” the minister advised.

On the day of voting, the strategy of Manyu CPDM, Mengot noted, “…must include deploying well trained and informed polling agents; ensuring ballot protection, and monitoring logistics to prevent delays or confusion”.

He appealed that: “Let no one be left behind. Let us reach out even to the lukewarm and the undecided…”, adding that the “… CPDM’s strength lies in its ability to rally and unify. We must also reach out to friendly political parties that have declared their support for our candidate”.

Questions Manyu CPDM must answer

In addition to reviewing gains in getting as many people as possible enroll on the electoral register, Minister Mengot raised questions which he underscored, the CPDM in Manyu must answer.

Among them, he asked: “Have we reached every eligible citizen? Have all our registered voters collected their voter’s cards? Are we effectively addressing concerns and misconceptions? Are we conveying our messages clearly and persuasively? Are we effectively countering misinformation and propaganda?.”

Need for more money

It makes meaning to recall that at last Friday’s meeting, participants raised 25 million FCFA. The amount was half of a budget of 50 million FCFA. Situating the need for resources, Minister Mengot stated that goodwill alone is not enough to win the October 12 presidential election. He clarified the need for resources to effectively fund the campaign for President Biya’s victory.

He said: “…mobilising, transporting teams, organising rallies, printing materials, logistics…all these need money. We must now move into a results-oriented fundraising drive”.

Funding such, he said, needs collective effort. While assuring transparency in raising funds, Minister Mengot called on “…political elite, economic operators and business leaders, and development stakeholders to make generous and timely contributions”.

The minister stated that, “every contribution is an investment in the continued peace and development of our Division and our nation”.

A finance committee was set up to coordinate fundraising across all the Subdivisions in Manyu Division.

Manyu renews support for Biya

The Minister Mengot-chaired meeting rose with a motion of support addressed to the Head of State.  In the motion of support, the sons and daughters of Manyu saluted Biya’s leadership commitment to peace, stability, prosperity, appointment of Manyu sons and daughters to posts of responsibilities among others.

Participants committed to ensure “President Biya gets a clear and flawless victory, come October 12, 2025, so that Cameroon can calmly continue its march towards emergence in peace and national cohesion”.

Mamfe mayor embraces Minister Mengot’s vision

One of the speakers at the event, Robertson Tabenchong Ashu; the charismatic, people-friendly, results-oriented and awards-winning mayor of Mamfe Council, embraced the vision of Minister Mengot to ensure unrivalled victory for President Biya at the October 12 poll.

He appealed to those in attendance to return to their various communities and continue working to ensure the population massively votes for Biya, come October 12. Tabenchong said the minister’s call for unity must be upheld, especially given the seriousness of this year’s presidential election.

The mayor also thanked supporters for supporting local moves with security forces and the population that has resulted in a marked improvement in peace and security in the Division.
