October poll: Ngoh Ngoh mocks those who kicked against Biya's candidacy.

Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh

The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, has said those who tried to discourage the Head of State, Paul Biya, from not seeking another mandate have failed.

Ngoh Ngoh made the declaration at the Unity Palace Monday July 14. He was speaking shortly after receiving a delegation of youth that came to offer 40 million FCFA to pay for Biya’s 30 million FCFA caution in the October 12 poll and the rest for his campaign.

After listening to the delegation of young people, Ngoh Ngoh lauded them for keeping to a promise they had made on February 13, 2025 while celebrating the President’s 92 birthday to pay his caution for the election.

Beyond saluting the youths for choosing Biya whom he said is the best choice, Ngoh Ngoh said they are aware that some people tried to discourage Biya from seeking another mandate. He said such persons tried through the social media and other media platforms.

The Minister of State declared that “they have failed”, given that Biya declared to the nation at nightfall on Sunday, July 13, that he will be running in the October 12 poll.

“You have not allowed yourself to be derailed by noise on the social media or other media…others put in enough energy to dissuade the Head of State from running for the election. The reason is simple, they know that with Paul Biya as candidate, they have lost the election. They have failed. President Paul Biya is a candidate. Your champion had said he will not allow you fall,” he stated.

By offering money to pay for Biya’s caution as a candidate in the election and opting to offer an additional 10 million FCFA to support his campaign, the Minister of State said youths have chosen experience over adventure.

The visit of the delegation to the Unity Palace to hand over the money, Ngoh Ngoh said, sends a strong and powerful message to the nation and the whole world that Biya is the choice of young people.

“What you have done will have an impact across the nation and internationally. You have come to show your love for Paul Biya to guide you towards a better future,” the Presidency scribe noted.

He disclosed that Biya had expressed delight when he told him few months ago that young people had opted to pay his caution to file in as a candidate in this year’s presidential election.

“…Be assured that he will never let you down. He believes in you and he counts on you,” he told the youths.

Biya knows challenges of youths

Speaking further, the Minister of State said the Head of State is aware of the challenges young people in Cameroon are facing.

“He told you on Sunday night that youths and women are his priority in the coming mandate. Biya is a man who keeps his words. The last appointments at CONAC testifies to that,” Ngoh Ngoh stated.

Time for field work is now

Arguing that Biya is the option for peace and stability, Ngoh Ngoh said with the electorate already convened for October 12, everyone must return to the field to boost support for Biya.

Work on the field, he said has to match what he insisted is the joy that greeted the announcement of Biya’s candidature across the nation.

“I talked with several diplomats…it is left to translate this popular support in the ballot box. Mobilise for victory...You have also started contributing for his campaign. Youths will also receive special support for his campaign. The best is yet to come with Paul Biya,” Ngoh Ngoh stated.
