Nkambe: Population hails Mayor Musa Shey for acquiring garbage truck.

During the presentation ceremony, Mayor Musa Shey stood proudly behind the truck, with joy as the entire population expressed their gratitude and appreciation for him. 

The crowd, pictured in cheers and applause, hailed the Mayor as he presented the truck to the municipality, symbolising his commitment to improving the sanitation and the living conditions of the inhabitants of Nkambe.

The newly acquired modern waste truck by the council is reported as the first of its kind in the entire North West Region, which is expected to greatly improve sanitation services in the municipality. 

This comes after the council suspended its participation in the 2025 National Clean City Contest, a decision Mayor Musa Shey initially said was to rally behind the regional capital, Bamenda, to win the prize.

The feat, officials of the council have said, is also thanks to the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, as Nkambe Council emerged second nationwide in the 2024 Clean City Contest.

According to them, the prize earned from the recognition contributed significantly to the acquisition of the modern waste truck. 

Officials also said the council is planning to construct a modern waste transformation system in the municipality, and set up neighbourhood sanitation units, where they will be able to expand sanitation strides to not only win more prizes in the future, but sets a record of a transformative culture.
