The Cameroon print media landscape has been enriched with yet another publication. This follows the launch, on Saturday, May 24, of a new magazine, Time Watch Global, TWG.

The quarterly magazine, described by many as a 'new breed' was launched by its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Professor Victor Ngu Cheo.

The launching ceremony, which took place in Bamenda, was attended by professors, doctors, communication experts, journalists and among others.

During the launching ceremony, many described the magazine as a new breed media organisation that will reshape the globe, in terms of information dissemination.

The magazine, with its motto: information, innovation and sustainable development, portrays its objective in propagating factual and genuine information for sustainable development across the globe.

With its slogan: "We stop at nothing", the Publisher, Victor Ngu Cheo, emphasised that it is a new commitment, taken by the entire team to keep informing Cameroonians and the world, at the cost of nothing.

"It's the first magazine in this country that will not be sold, it will be free of charge. It's a commodity and we must add value to it," he said.

"2025 made me 25 years in higher education, and I asked myself what can I do to show within the context of the entrepreneurial university. My students will be judging me as I marry theory and practice," Prof Victor Ngu said.

The Publisher also revealed that he had the dream some 14 years ago, and finally decided to make it feasible in 2025.

The first edition futures articles like; UNVDA to set up rice production and quality, Minister Mbah Acha Rose spreads charity across Momo Division, Prof Theresia Nkuo-Akenji with the European Union Ambassador, and others.

Time Watch Global magazine team is made up of the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Prof Victor Ngu Cheo, Managing Editor, Langmia Eric, Language Editor, Esther Phubon, Public Relations and Advertising Manager, Bih Immaculate, and regional correspondents.

Testimonies galore

The launching ceremony was marked by several testimonies and reviews to the magazine.

According to Professor Muluh Henry, Vice Dean in charge of Admission and Records in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Bamenda, UBa, the magazine is a testament to the fine products they are training in the department of Communication and Development Studies.

In a critical and unbiased review, Prof Muluh appreciated the content of the magazine, which to him, reflects its quality and motto in spearheading sustainable development.

According to Prof Muluh, major headlines in the magazine about transformational development, environment and climate change, and youth entrepreneurial development are key to every society, which makes the magazine standout and a must read.

Publisher and team during the launch of the publication

According to Doctor Vincent Manzie Doh, journalism and communication trainer at the University of Bamenda, Time Watch Global magazine brings in the idea of feature stories, which to him, is a kind reflection on the issue of feature stories which still has a place as far as information is concerned.

"It adds a lot to the media landscape in the sense that it blends a lot of feature news. With the changing media landscape, I strongly believe that good news is news...there's no way you can be a trained journalist or communicator and not get into the practical part," Doctor Manzie said.

Other testimonies came from former supervisees, and representatives from various institutions where Prof Victor Cheo has been acting as an adviser.
