Meme Division: New Basic Education Delegate charged to ensure effective schooling.

The SDO was speaking Wednesday August 28. This was during the installation of 54-year-old Ivo Ebako Matuke as Divisional Delegate of Basic Education for Meme Division. Ebako replaces Mukwelle Beatrice.

Speaking during the ceremony, the SDO thanked the outgone delegate for her efforts in ensuring school activities remained smooth in the sector amidst the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

"As you go on a well-deserved retirement, you should keep in mind that you have been a mother to the basic education family because no day throughout your six years in office, did I receive a complaint from any of your collaborators…," the SDO said.

Ntou’ou Ndong then charged the incoming delegate to increase the collaboration spirit between himself and his collaborators.

“You must listen to your collaborators and ensure that the abandonment of duty posts by teachers must stop…work with your inspectors for a better follow-up…," the SDO said. 

Earlier, Mukwelle Beatrice had thanked the Minister of Basic Education for giving her the opportunity to lead basic education sector in Meme for close to six years. 

About the new delegate

The newly installed delegate, Ebako Ivo Matuke, is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree obtained from the University of Buea. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Planning.

He has also worked as a classroom teacher, head teacher, chief of bureau, chief service and Inspector of Basic Education for Kumba II Subdivision for seven years.

He also served Kumba I Subdivision in same capacity for two years before being appointed by the Minister of Basic Education to head the Divisional delegation for Meme. The native of Kumba is a member of the Kumba traditional council.
