Mbengwi in Momo Division of the North West Region is gearing up to host a pioneer Youth Impact Conference, a groundbreaking event, designed to empower young people with the skills, knowledge, and support to enhance their personal development, employability, and entrepreneurial potential.

The conference, slated for August 31, is organised by Withgodep Foundation in partnership with Abi Fall Resort, on the theme: “Unleashing Youth Potential”.

Speaking to The Guardian Post, the Executive Director of Withgodep Foundation, Seta W. Wiertz, who also doubles as the Manager of the Abi Fall Resort revealed that the conference aims to equip young leaders, entrepreneurs, and students with practical skills in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

“We want to empower young people to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society. By providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and support, we can unlock their potential and create a brighter future for our community,” Wiertz said.

According to him, the event will also inspire and motivate participants to pursue their goals and aspirations, while offering guidance on career development, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

All this, with the objective to foster a sense of community and collaboration, empower young people to start businesses and pursue sustainable livelihoods as well as create a platform for networking, mentorship, and support.

“We want to create a supportive community that fosters connection, innovation, and growth among young entrepreneurs, mentors, and potential investors,” Wiertz stated.

A highlight of the conference will be a business pitch competition, where participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas and win prizes totaling 225,000 FCFA.

“The pitch competition is designed to help participants improve their communication, presentation, and business planning skills. We aim to encourage innovation, provide valuable exposure, boost self-esteem, and enhance access to essential resources,” Wiertz underscored.

Participants will present their responses to a panel of judges, addressing questions such as their product or service, the problem it solves, and their long-term vision. The winners will be chosen through a unanimous decision by the jury.

The conference targets young leaders and entrepreneurs, information sciences and technology, agriculture, health, and service industries. Hundreds of youths drawn from Mbengwi and its environs are expected to take part in the inaugural conference.
