2025 presidentials: Senator Nfor Tabetando rallies Manyu to drum Biya’s candidacy.

Senate Vice President, Nfor Tabetando Ndiep Nso, has rallied the population of Manyu Division in the South West Region to call on the Head of State, President Paul Biya, to seek another mandate in 2025.

This was the substance of a meeting that took place in Mamfe, on Saturday August 17. It was an occasion for especially economic operators to join the Senate Vice President in declaring their unwavering support for President Paul Biya in next year’s presidential election.

Among the different groups that joined the Senate Vice President and Manyu political torchbearer in the call for Biya to seek re-election were; traditional rulers, Regional Councillors, members of the Manyu Cocoa Farmers Association, Drivers Union, Barbers Union, Car Wash Union, among others.

After meeting in conclave, the Senate Vice President and revered Manyu elite, led the team in a march on the streets of Mamfe, to the office of the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, of Manyu.

The Manyu political heavyweight and King of Bachuo-Ntai village, alongside the population presented the motion of support addressed to the Head of State, to the SDO, for onward transmission. 

The ace grassroots politician, matchless community and community mobiliser, said the massive attendance of the meeting was a show of the love and admiration the people of Manyu Division have for the Head of State. 

Nfor Tabetando urged the people to continue supporting the vision of the Head of State to enhance development.

 

SDO urges all to work for peace 

The SDO for Manyu, Awounfack Alienou Yves Bertrand, received the motion of support from the population for onward transmission to the Head of State.

While receiving the motion of support, he thanked the different stakeholders of Manyu Division and urged all and sundry to work for peace.

Awounfack also called on the population of Manyu to remain mobilise and observe basic hygiene rules and be united to contribute in the development of their communities.

Counting gains from Biya regime

According to the Senate Vice President, the people of Manyu Division are grateful to the Head of State for the tarring of the Kumba-Mamfe Road, which is part of the Bamenda-Enugu Corridor passing through Mamfe. 

Senator Tabetando also expressed optimism that the Bakebe-Tinto-Dschang-Fontem Road will soon be tarred. The road, he said, cuts across most villages in Upper Bayang Sub Division.

Another issue which gladdens the mind of the Manyu population, Tabetando said, is the construction of the bridge over the Mfou River on the border with Nigeria. The infrastructure, Nfor Tabetando stated, has made it easy for famers in Manyu and other parts of the country to sell forest products such as eru, bush Mango, especially cocoa.

For such investments that have benefitted Manyu Division, Senator Nfor Tabetando said the population of the Division is ready to pay back by voting for Biya massively in 2025.

Senator Nfor Tabetando also said the military operation in Akwaya Subdivision is yielding fruits while at the same time peace is fast returning to Manyu.

Beg Biya to launch campaign in Mamfe

Speaking at the esplanade of the SDO’s office, the President of the Manyu Cocoa Farmers Union, Tabe Besong Oben Richard, said in addition to calls for Biya to seek re-election, they are pleading with the Head of State to launch his campaigns in Mamfe.
