Renowned international legal luminary, peace crusader, good governance enthusiast, anti-corruption champion and societal moral revamping advocate, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, has received yet another accolade for his commitment in serving the church and society.

This was recently during a leadership course organised by the Christian Men Fellowship, CMF, of the Mungo Presbytery of Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC.

The CMF of Mungo Presbytery awarded Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle a Certificate of Achievement, in acknowledgment his “exceptional contribution to the promotion of evangelism within the Christian Men Fellowship of Mungo Presbytery in particular”.

According to CMF Mungo Presbytery, the award given to Ntumfor Nico Halle is in recognition of his “tireless work ethic and dedication to the Christian Men Fellowship of Mungo Presbytery”.

This award comes to add to myriad of others that have been won by Ntumfor Nico Halle for his outstanding services to community, church, nation and humanity.

It should be noted that during the CMF Mungo Presbytery leadership course, Ntumfor Nico, whose quest for moral revamping of the society is unrivaled, delivered a talk on the ills of sexual immorality.

Talking to The Guardian Post in a telephone interview, Ntumfor Nico Halle recounted some of the outstanding works he has done within the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, in general and the Christian Men Fellowship, CMF, in particular.

“I have grown through ranks and file from Christian Youth Fellowship, CYF, to CMF. In CMF, I was President of the movement in PCC Bonaberi, then I went on to be President of the Presbytery, then to Regional President and later the National President of the CMF,” he disclosed.

In those capacities, Nico Halle impacted the church in particular in a very special way and the Cameroonian society in general and beyond.

“I made sure that during my various mandates, be it at the group or Presbytery, region or national, I worked efficiently with utmost dedication. You know I’ve also handled posts at the top of the church like the board of trustees, and other committees of the church,” he said.

He continued that: “The CMF in particular led me into touring the entire nation, going all over with my team to distribute spiritual documents, including the Bible to Christians, but especially to non-Christians so as to win them over to the Christian faith. We also distributed these documents to administrators at the Divisional, Regional and Central levels such as SDOs and Governors' Offices as well as Ministerial Departments. It is worth mentioning that the Bibles were bought by my humble self with my funds. In all my years as a leader, I have never touched a penny from the funds I managed. I rather stretched my hands deep into my pockets to pump my money into the movement. I thank God for giving me the means to be able to do His work, which I am still doing”.

“Award a pleasant surprise”

Ntumfor Nico Halle disclosed that the award came a pleasant surprise.

“During the leadership course that was held on July 24 on sexual immorality and many other topics, I was surprisingly recognised, a pleasant surprise, by the Presbytery exco. I had no idea they had prepared an award for me. When I was about to leave, they asked me to wait, then presented me with the award, a Cerfificate of Achievement”.

“This only adds to the about 186 distinctions, certificates, awards, medals and insignias that I have received for the different areas I have crusaded in. I have been crusading peace, fighting against corruption, misappropriation, and embezzlement. In fact, moral decadence in all its forms,” he noted.

“I have been working not only in the church, but in the society. You know the church is part of the society and societal ills like corruption and embezzlement can also be found in the church, so I am fighting it on all fronts,” Ntumfor Nico Halle added.

He continued that: “This has, however, landed me at odds with a few Christians, church members and even authorities. A lot of people appreciate my work, but when you are stopping people from stealing, rigging elections, doing things that are not spiritual, they cannot like you”.

“I always say that when we allow someone to rig an election, be it church or secular society, the person who rigs himself to office cannot do a good job. They will continue to rig the resources of the church at the detriment of the Christians and even the Bible. They will also spend time compensating those who helped them to get into office, instead of working for the church or for the society,” he regretted.

The celebrated good governance advocate added that: “A rigger is a thief. I fought against all of that in the church and the society. I think people appreciate moral values, hence the recognition”.

“Two of my Doctorate Honoris Causa are on peace crusading, good governance and fight against corruption. One was recently announced in Nigeria. They will package it and send to me or I will go there to receive it. I also received one from a local university with three other awardees, the Governor of the North West Region at the time, Koumpa Issa, Rev Dr. Aji-Mvo and Rev Father Tata Mbuy. I refuse the title being called Dr. for personal reasons. I have seen people who carry those titles but are a complete disgrace,” he said.

Ntumfor Nico Halle added that: “The Honoris Causa is awarded for work that has been done to impact society. The recognition by the Mungo Presbytery is for the work that I have done in the church in general and the CMF movement in particular, impacting it in various ways”.
