Mezam: Santa System Cooperative Dev’t Society donates inputs to farmers.

Tonnes of maize seeds have been distributed to farmers of Santa Subdivision, Mezam Division of the North West Region by the Santa System Cooperative Development Society.

This was during an event April in Santa.

The distribution of the seeds is aimed at increasing productivity in the area, known for the cultivation of varied crops.

After its Annual General Assembly meeting in February, during which the roadmap on the socio-economic development of Santa Subdivision was adopted, the Santa System Cooperative Development Society was in Mbei to put words to action, by distributing three tonnes of maize seeds to the farmers of the Subdivision.

According to the initiator of the system, Ntumfor Fru Jonathan, the gesture falls in line with the vision of the Head of State, President Paul Biya.

"We want to thank the Head of State. He is the farmers’ friend, and you know he is doing so much for our country today to ensure that the living standards of the people are improved. Promoting farmers is one of such measures. Today, our farmers right down in the villages are celebrating and thanking him for this gesture," Fru Jonathan said.
