On its part, the Kribi Gas power plant, located at the Mpolongwe neighbourhood in Kribi, generates a 216 MW electricity supply. The plant, commissioned in 2013, runs on natural gas with light fuel oil as a back-up.

She further mentioned that a project to extend the Kribi power station is currently under development and, will be able to generate a total of 330 MW of natural gas-fired electricity once completed.
