Artiste, Queen Naahtal, to unveil new album Queendom March 1.

Afrobeat and Makossa singer, Queen Naahtal, is set to officially unveil her new album. The album titled Queendom will be unveiled March 1. 

This will be during a concert in Yaounde. 



The album, produced by Magical Grapix Pictures, MAGRAPIC, is made up of 15 songs. The songs tell stories about culture, agriculture, love, women empowerment and social change.

Speaking to The Guardian Post, the artiste noted that the album dropped February 20 but will be unveiled officially to the public on March 1.

The album, Queen Naahtal said, is a mixture of Bottle dance, Reggae, Makossa, Highlife and Afrobeat. In the songs, she talks of taking fans to a place where the arts meet and merge, in the image of her multidisciplinary and committed artistic character.

 Naahtal has been involved in the world of music since childhood. She has a strong sensitivity to both sound and image and is inspired by genres such as Bottle dance, Reggae, Makossa, Highlife and Afrobeat. 

Naahtal, it should be said, served as Vice President of the Cameroon Neighbouring Rights Civil Society from 2017-2022. She is also a manager, Cultural Promoter, Event Consultant and Art Therapist. She is also an activist for social change.

According to her, she has chosen originality with a touch of humour, strong and sensitive lyrics alongside catchy music. She said, she is using her songs to talk about the ills of the society. 

With her songs, she noted that, she is able to take the audience into a world where craziness has its place. As an enthusiastic cultural divider, she added that her texts are generally written in a climate of social harmony in order to raise awareness among young people.

Born on 16 September, Queen Naahtal, who is known by her real name Naah Joyce Njei, hails from Baba II village, Santa Subdivision, Mezam Division of the North West Region.

Songs released

In 2015, she released a single titled ‘Rebirth’, 2017 and later ‘I don die ‘was released. The album Contry Things was released in 2019 and in 2022 ‘Comme Une Soeur’ was released. She has taken part in several national and international competitions and winning many as well. 

She has equally been part of several international shows among them: the International Djamvi Festival. She was part of the ‘Chad Commission de sélection plateau Off du salon International des Voix des Femmes’, which held in 2023. In 2022, she took part in the Escale Bantoo Music Business Training Showcase. She has equally done backup vocals for the Mbale Mbale group among others.
