Maroua: Woman wins 159M FCFA after staking 3,000 FCFA with PMUC.

A woman in the city of Maroua in the Far North Region, has won 159 million FCFA after staking 3,000 FCFA with renowned game of chance company, Le Pari Mutuel Urbain Camerounais, PMUC.



 

The businesswoman-turned millionaire won the colossal amount after participating in the last Quinté+ of the year 2023 on December 31.

With a stake of just 3,000 FCFA, the lady, whose name is being withheld, was inspired to line up 16-18-3-17-12 exactly in order. 

The combination enabled her to pocket the sum of 159,190,900 FCFA. A ceremony worthy of the win was recently organised at the PMUC branch in Founangue, Maroua.

During the event, she was publicly handed a giant symbolic cheque created for the occasion.

Deeply moved by the said windfall at the start of the new year, she said she intends to put into practice projects that until now have been nothing more than unattainable dreams in her memory.

PMUC Far North Regional Manager, Mahamat Mahamat, on behalf of the company's General Manager, said he was delighted to see the life of a compatriot changed overnight, thanks to the contribution of PMUC, a corporate citizen and leader in gaming in Cameroon for 30 years.

Martin Biagou, a PMUC salesman at the "Carrefour Para" in Maroua, validated the ticket.

Speaking during the ceremony, Biagou advised clients to be persevering. It should be said that Sunday's Quinté+ offers jackpots of 650 million FCFA. PMUC officials say the year 2024 is off to a flying start with the said huge win.
