At visit to National museum: Former Ecuador President, Rosalia Arteage, hails Cameroon’s rich culture.

Former Ecuador President, Rosalia Arteaga, has hailed Cameroon's cultural diversity and richness. Arteaga made the observation yesterday during a guided visit of the National Museum in Yaounde.

This was in the company of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Bidoung Mkpatt, the Director of the National Museum, as well as some of his collaborators.

She was accompanied during her visit by the Leonie Bouemba, President of the African Confederation of Architects who doubles as Honorary Consultant of Malts. 

In Cameroon since July 3, the former Ecuadorian president during her last stay in the country took out time to visit the museum where great works of arts and artifacts of the country are stored.

From the tour round the four cultural zones: Fang Beti, Soudano Sahelian, Sawa and the Grass field Cultural Zones, the official saluted the rich and diverse culture that make up Cameroon.

Walking pass the Traditional Musical Exhibition Hall to where royal masks and Royal Wigs are displayed, the official and her entourage were marveled by the preservation and promotion prowess of the country.

The feeling was same during her visit to the Traditional Habitat Exhibition Hall.  The visiting official was carried away by the marvelous works of arts.

Speaking to the press at the end of tour, Rosalia Arteaga said: “I really appreciate the way the rich cultural value of the country is being displayed. I like the way the country through its museum builds its identity and preserves its culture”.

Arteaga congratulated the Ministry of Arts and Culture, the government of Cameroon and officials of the museum that gave her every detail of the artifacts on display.

“Permit me equally congratulate the people of Cameroon because of this big and very impressive museum,” Arteaga said. The ceremony ended with the signing of the visitor’s book by the former President and the exchange of gifts between the two personalities.
