Atanga Nji urges administrators to step up performance.

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, has urged some 38 administrators to whom he handed new cars to step up their productivity.

The minister made the appeal Monday April 3 in Yaounde. This was during a ceremony to hand the cars to the administrators. The beneficiaries comprised Senior Divisional Officers, SDOs, and Divisional Officers, DOs.

He told the administrators that the brand new cars were gifts from the Head of State, President Paul Biya. The goal, he noted, is to help them better serve the nation in their respective administrative units.

Atanga Nji told the SDOs and DOs that: “You must use these vehicles as your clothes. The Head of State has put at your disposal brand new cars, you will no longer have any pretexts or excuses for not crisscrossing your respective territorial constituencies to disseminate and monitor government action”.

Minister Atanga Nji reminded them that “as representatives of the executive in your various administrative entities, you are required to ensure compliance with laws and rules, maintain public order and security, support public action, exercise the supervision of local governments”.

The MINAT boss also called on the beneficiaries to channel the concerns of the people in their areas of command to the government for action.

The cars handed Monday, Minister Atanga Nji said, brings to 70 the number of vehicles handed to administrators under two years.

The objective of the cars, he said, is to help the administrative authorities carry out their jobs well.

To recall that, in March 2020, the Minister handed the first consignment of cars to his collaborators still at the esplanade of the Yaounde City Council.

The Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea, the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Mfoundi, Jean Mariel Djikdent attended the event.
