Supporters of the ruling Cameroon People

The party supporters voiced the plea through the Kupe-Muanenguba III Section President, Mbulle Valentine, Friday March 24. This was during celebrations to mark the party’s 38th anniversary at the Tombel Municipal Grandstand.

The celebration was under the theme: “Rejoicing, rallying, and mobilising behind the National President, Paul Biya, in full awareness of the challenges and future electoral stakes”.

The grassroots supporters through the Section President, told party hierarchy and officials of the Yaounde regime that Tombel yearns for its own share of the reconstruction plan.

“I bear the voice of the people of Kupe-Muanenguba III, who have requested me to tell our current minister, our former ministers, the Kupe-Muanenguba Permanent Delegation, our Senator, the Member of the National Assembly for Kupe-Muanenguba I and III, our Chiefs, Regional Councillors, the Mayor and Municipal Councillors, to hold hands and go to Yaounde to tell the powers that be that we need our own share of the Presidential reconstruction plan,” Mbulle stated.

He recalled that when the reconstruction plan was instituted, officials said the initial funds were meant to experiment in areas that experienced relative calm. Mbulle said it was in this regard that the Tombel-Bangem road was graded with communities apprehending those who tried to disrupt the works.

“I am saying that, today, all the conditions are set for the Presidential reconstruction plan to be fully implemented here,” Mbulle said, while appreciating the Head of State for authorising the construction of the Bangem-Nguti Road, which has been earmarked in this year’s budget.

“We truly look forward to the beginning of works, as soon as possible. But we yearn for more,” he added.

Mbulle charged the elected representatives of Tombel particularly and the division as a whole to channel their plea to Yaounde and federate forces to lobby for it to be realised so as to leave a legacy behind.

“In this regard, the people of Tombel request you to do what you can at your various levels, but most especially, take our plea to the appropriate quarters. We need to have a feel of the Presidential reconstruction plan. The time will come when our chiefs will have to attest to the community involvement of potential office seekers before we can endorse them,” he added.

Counts CPDM achievements

Aside using the event to demand the inclusion of Tombel in the reconstruction plan, the Section President also used it to count the monumental achievements recorded under the CPDM party and pledged their unalloyed support for the party National Chairman, Paul Biya.

Mbulle said the event in Tombel was to celebrate the party’s 38 years of “remarkable progress, maturity”.

“We in Tombel municipality have even more reasons to celebrate the total return to normalcy, which we have always craved,” Mbulle said, while beckoning on supporters to continue to rally behind the National Chairman, Paul Biya, in the midst of the multiple challenges that the country is facing.

“…so, we must now, more than ever, stand behind our Champion, trusting in his leadership,” he told supporters.

The theme, Mbulle said, also cautions supporters to “sit back and ponder, size up the stakes and challenges that we will have to rise to as the leading party, as a community, as a nation”.

Mbulle said this year’s party anniversary celebration is peculiar as it comes on the heels of the March 12 Senatorial election where the party scored 100 percent in the Division.

“I avail myself of this opportunity to congratulate and thank our Mayor, the Council Campaign Leader and all our devoted councillors, both Municipal and Regional, for their unwavering commitment,” he said.

The Section President said the outstanding results lends credence to the fact that the municipal councillors have come to “understand the full meaning of unity, togetherness, inclusiveness, party discipline, commitment and respect for party ideals”.

He boasted that Tombel CPDM is the more proud because it emerged first in the senatorial election in the division in terms of score and participation.

“The party is proud of you,” he told councillors, while cautioning that the victory should not make them lose sight of looming challenges and the high electoral stakes ahead.

“The upcoming elections are more broad-based and we will have to work hard to convince our people,” he reminded party supporters, noting that work has to start immediately by bringing order in the house and avoiding to move in dispersed ranks.

Hails massive turnout, growing grassroots support

Mbulle used the opportunity to thank all grassroots supporters of the 46 Sub-sections for their massively turnout for party events since he was elected Section President.

He was also thankful to the members of the party for keeping the CPDM flame burning in all the nooks and crannies the Kupe-Muanenguba III Section.

“As a matter of fact, looking at the teeming crowd gathered here, anyone can see that I am the happiest Section President today, as your presence here now establishes one fact, if at all anyone still had doubts; Tombel is at peace, Tombel is united, Tombel is CPDM…,” he stated.

He also hailed the administration led by the Divisional officer, DO of Tombel, Nyam Leonard, defence and security forces, local and external elite, women and dynamic youth for always showing their vibrancy and ensuring party events in Tombel are celebrated without hitches.
