She says their philosophy is simple-instead of looking at and treating them like objects of sympathy and pity, the attendant consequence being discrimination, "we must now consider them like any other mental or physically impaired patient and hold them out like an integral part of society. Their development growth deficiencies and mental issues can be handled and their energy harnessed into productive areas from which society can tap...".

Besides educational kids and some machinery to stabilise enliven and bring joy to the beneficiaries, the Bon Martha NGO International donated hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, bedside commodes, deep tissue massage equipment, adult diapers, diabetic shoes, bedding and toiletries packaged food, baby and adult shoes to hospitals, schools, training and rehabilitation centres.

According to Blessing Ndang these modest donations should enable the beneficiaries live and lead decent lives and should help them know that society has some consideration for them.  She reiterated that persons living with development or intellectual impairment have a right to be part of societal cavities and welfare.

Most of the beneficiaries, it has emerged, live in the Littoral, Centre, South West and North West Regions of Cameroon.

They all expressed gratitude to Bon Martha International for the donations and prayed that the Almighty continues to bless the NGO and its officials. Blessing Ndang seized the opportunity to call on all Cameroonians of goodwill in and out of the country to jump on the train in upholding the dignity of people living with cognitive disabilities.

She insisted that stigma and discrimination must now be a matter of the past in the way persons living with development and intellectual disabilities are regarded. She says it's time to bring awareness and opportunity to the vulnerable in society.

It should be recalled that the US-based NGO, Bon Martha International, has been providing non-medical persons centred charitable services and educational services in the United States of America over the past twenty years.

Bon Martha lnternational believes that working with the appropriate tools can help venerable persons to excel in what they do, harness their potentials and live a stable and independent life.
