Douala to host first int’l auto, mobility expo in October.

The eight-day event will be held at the CAMTEL Stadium in Bepanda. It is expected to bring together vehicle dealers, transport operators, businesses and other stakeholders.

The Expo, the ministry detailed, is organised by Maraboo and Kanao, two agencies specialised in communication and events. It will be held under the theme: “Building Together the Future of Mobility”.

Organisers say the event will be a meeting point for players across the transport ecosystem in Cameroon and Central Africa, and provide a platform for exchanges between the public and private sectors. 

Participants are expected to take part in business-to-business meetings and masterclasses during the event. Visitors, organisers added, will discover technological developments in the sector as vehicles and heavy equipment will be exhibited at designated spaces.

Transport minister, Ngallè Bibehe, said the initiative comes at a time when the transport and mobility sector is undergoing changes. He cited innovation, changing public expectations and competitiveness among the issues shaping the sector.

“In this context, it is essential to create more spaces for dialogue, cooperation and innovation,” Ngallè Bibehe said.

Per the Ministry of Transport, government intends to continue modernising the country’s transport system. The minister said the authorities would encourage initiatives that contribute to improving the performance and modernisation of the sector.

He called on stakeholders under his ministry to participate in Cameroon Auto Expo 2026 and support the initiative. He also expressed the hope that the exhibition would develop into “a reference event” over time.

Co-promoter, Yolande Bodiong, said the initiative was conceived following developments observed in the country’s automobile and transport sector. She pointed to the increasing presence of vehicle dealers and changes taking place within transport-related businesses.

“This shows that the country is a land of attractiveness and opportunities. Companies are innovating, professions are changing and needs are evolving,” Bodiong said.

She added that there had been a need for a common platform where stakeholders could meet and discuss issues affecting the sector and mobility. 

According to the organisers, Cameroon Auto Expo seeks to facilitate partnerships, showcase expertise and provide opportunities for exchanges among participants.

The promoters also want the exhibition to serve as a platform for dialogue and innovation while facilitating contacts between businesses and potential partners. They hope to establish the Expo as a regular meeting point for transport and mobility stakeholders in Cameroon and the Central African sub-region.
