At authorisation: Moderator charges Assistant Pastors to be faithful, spirit-filled.

PCC authorities pose with newly authorised pastors

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, the Rt Rev Miki Hans Abia, has charged some 27 new Assistant Pastors to be faithful and spirit-filled in service to God.

He made the call on Sunday, May 31.

During the event, 27 holders of bachelors and 14 holders of master’s degree were graduated from the seminary.

The Second Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Hermia Njonje; the Divisional Officer, DO, for Kumba II Subdivision, traditional authorities alongside hundreds of Christians, witnessed the ritual.

Christened, batch of ‘Divine Strength’, the Moderator in his homily drawn from John 3:1-8, cautioned the Assistant Pastors not to turn ministry into performance.

He reminded them that the pulpit is not a place for self-glorification but a stage for sacrifice and service. The Rt Rev Miki Hans called on the Assistant Pastors to be a true reflection of the seminary and the vision of the PCC.

The Moderator also encouraged the young pastors to stay faithful and courageous. He charged them to preach the gospel of Christ boldly, humbly, compassionately and uphold integrity by the help of the Holy Spirit.

Worthy of note is that the ceremony came on the heels of the staffing Committee of the PCC, the body in charge of the transfers and promotion of pastors.

The Moderator was closely assisted by the Synod Clerk, the Rev Ayuk Solomon Eta; the Secretary Committee of the Ministry, Rev Emmanuel Masok; the Secretary Constitution Committee, Rev Prof Mbengu David; national secretaries, presbyterial secretaries, Dean of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Rev Dr Kang Felix Esoh; and college of other pastors.
