Kumba: Ex-students donate computers, didactics to GBHS Mambanda.

Ex-students’ delegation, school officials pose with donation

The 2002 batch of the ex-students of Government Bilingual High School, GBHS, Mambanda, Kumba, Meme Division of the South West Region have donated computers and didactics to the school.



The donation was made during a ceremony on Friday, May 29. It preceded the general assembly of the ex-students association. The donation comprised; 10 ultra-modern desktop computers with accessories, four industrial capacity distributors and an automatic voltage regulator.

Didactic materials handed to school authorities were; books, pens and rulers which were later distributed to the first three students of each class. The ex-students also offered scholarships to 17 underprivileged students for the 2026/2027 school year.

The Vice President of the association while speaking on behalf of the president, Njiomou Derick, said the donation is to boost the institution.

Referencing the theme of the assembly, “an emerging rebirth, a daring impact…", the Vice President said and it was on the strength of the theme that the ex-students decided to act.

The executive expressed delight that the donation sparked joy and renewed determination among learners. The Vice President stated that more actions will be taken to reach out to more ex-students so as to carry out more donations in the school.

The ex-students thanked the administration of the school for collaborating with them to make the donation a success. They also promised to continue reaching out to the school so that it can raise more responsible citizens.

Speaking earlier the Principal of the school, Ebolloh Solomon, said he was happy to have been the administrator under whose reign the donation was made.

Ebolloh stated that thanks to the donation, the computer laboratory of the school will be revamped. He expressed gratitude to the ex-students for thinking of their alma mater and encouraged others to emulate the example.

He assured that the doors of the school remain open for more of such activities. GBHS Mambanda was created in 1998 with late Mwelle Kunz as pioneer principal. He was succeeded by Susan Ebanja, Ngende Wilson, Maimo Brendan and now Ebolloh.
