FECAFOOT inaugurates ultramodern headquarters today.

FECAFOOT ultramodern headquarters

The head office of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, will be inaugurated in Yaounde today, Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by national and international dignitaries, especially those in the sports milieu.

Top among them is the immediate former President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Ahmad Ahmad.

In the buildup to the highly-mediatised event, the federation and its partners organised a series of activities.

Two of the activities were scheduled to hold at the Military Stadium in Yaounde yesterday, including a music concert assembling some of Cameroon’s biggest contemporary stars.

The new headquarters includes an ultramodern five-storey facility, constructed on a surface area of what the institution estimates at 3,500 square metres.

The construction of the facility was initiated in 2014, under the then leadership of the institution’s former long-serving President, Iya Mohammed.

Multiple setbacks, ranging from legal battles and financial limitations, were blamed for the delay in the completion of works.

The federation’s current leadership, led by former Cameroon international, Samuel Eto’o Fils, relaunched works at the facility some three years ago.

Eto’o Fils took the commitment in a bid to fulfill the promise he made, while campaigning for his election as President of the national football governing body in 2021.

In a press release published on the personal website of the two-time African champion in December last year, FECAFOOT said the structure will upon the completion of works, serve as a major gamechanger for Cameroonian football.

The institution said that the facility, which reportedly boosts of over 50 modern and office spaces for the administrative team, a main conference hall with 200 seats and professional audiovisual equipment, and five modular meeting rooms; ranging from 20 to 50 seats, will better the coordination of the federation’s activities.

The press release said the infrastructural jewel will facilitate tasks for the institution in that regards by providing a space that enables the structure to centralise all its services in a single location.

These, the federation said, will strongly increase efficiency, through the modern tools that the facility has been equipped with; to guarantee the optimal management of competitions and licenses, and enhance transparency through via its tools that are adapted for audits and controls.

It said the facilitate will equally improve Cameroon’s influence at the international level; thanks to its capacity to host delegations from the World Football governing body, FIFA, and the continental structure, CAF.
