Concord International Hotel, Yaounde’s new hospitality jewel.

Imposing Concord International Hotel at the Olezoa neighbourhood in Yaounde

Ten floors of glass, stone and steel now command the skyline above the Olezoa neighbourhood in Yaounde III Subdivision, setting a new benchmark for five-star hospitality in the nation’s capital.

The Concord International Hotel, CIH, a five-star edifice spanning more than 3,800 square metres across ten floors and two underground levels, is ready to serve the public, offering guests a standard of accommodation and conference infrastructure Yaounde has not seen before.

Inaugurated on September 30, 2025, by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Joseph Dion Ngute, on behalf of President Paul Biya, the hotel has been constructed by the Association of Treasury Staff, MUTRESOR, at a total cost of 19 billion FCFA.

The project was supervised by the Ministry of Finance, with funds generated largely from MUTRESOR’s own resources.

Designed by Cameroonian architect, Jean Gaétan Bayack, the building stands as a concrete expression of what MUTRESOR describes as responsible pooling of public servants’ resources for productive, income-generating investment.

119 rooms, every category covered

The Concord International Hotel offers 119 rooms and suites across a carefully tiered configuration: 16 standard rooms, three domestic and security rooms, two rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility, and 72 executive rooms, several of which feature double beds.

The 26 suites are split between 22 standard suites, two VIP suites, and two presidential suites, the most premium accommodation in the hotel.

Double elevators on each floor ensure seamless accessibility throughout the building, including for guests with disabilities.

The hotel reception

Five conference halls, two dedicated floors

For meeting planners and event organisers, the Concord International Hotel offers two floors that are dedicated entirely to professional events.

There are five conference halls to cater for gatherings of all sizes, with the largest facility accommodating more than 500 persons.

The first-floor hosts two modular banquet halls, a grand hall and a smaller breakaway room along with a modular conference hall.

The second floor is reserved for VIP banquet events. Conference hall hire begins from 600,000 FCFA.

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Joseph Dion Ngute, noted at the inauguration that the hotel would host both national and international events, reinforcing the country’s positioning as a regional destination of conferences and leisure.

The project, he had added, gives practical expression to President Biya's vision for an emerging Cameroon by 2035.

Three restaurants, panoramic views included

Restauration at the Concord International Hotel, spans three distinct settings. An indoor restaurant on the ground floor offers à la carte service, featuring both local Cameroonian cuisine and continental options.

Two outdoor terrace restaurants, one on the third floor and a second on the tenth floor, extend the offer upward, with the rooftop venue delivering a panoramic view of the nation’s capital, Yaounde.

Every Sunday, a buffet service is available at 15,000 FCFA per adult and 7,000 FCFA for children.

Round the clock entertainment

Beyond the room and boardroom, the Concord International Hotel has built an entertainment, suited to both leisure travelers and Yaounde residents seeking a premium night out.

Every Thursday and Friday evening, the hotel hosts afterwork events; featuring a piano bar and cabaret programme.

Guests also have access to a shopping mall, spa, an indoor swimming pool, a fully-equipped gymnasium, a night-club, and a casino, all under one roof.

Safety, security, accessibility

Few hotels in Yaounde can match the security credentials of Concord International Hotel. Situated directly on the roadside in central Yaounde and adjacent to the military headquarters, the property occupies one of the most secured and visible addresses in the capital.

Internally, comprehensive video surveillance and scanner systems cover all public areas, ensuring guests move through the premises with full confidence.

For arriving guests, the hotel offers underground parking for approximately 100 vehicles, a secure and monitored facility that greatly reduces one of the more persistent headaches of travelling in central Yaounde.

Accessibility is another practical advantage. When major events bring downtown Yaounde to a standstill, the streets of Olezoa remain open, keeping Concord International Hotel reachable and its guests undisturbed.

A testament to Treasury discipline

The Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, speaking at the inauguration last year, had framed the project as a celebration of the hard work and budget discipline of staff at the Directorate General of the Treasury, Financial and Monetary Cooperation.

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, also present at the inaugural, echoed the sentiment, describing the hotel not merely as a building, but as a model for how State institutions can transform pooled resources into drivers of sustainable development.

Concord International Hotel attracting foreign guests

The doors of Concord International Hotel have opened just on time to welcome the world.

During a guided tour, a commercial officer at the Concord International Hotel, Alain Essono, disclosed that delegations attending the World Trade Organisation's, WTO 14th Ministerial Conference, scheduled to hold in Yaounde, from March 25 to 29, 2026; will be among the first guests to check in, with delegations from China, Russia and Switzerland, among others, already confirmed.

Event consultant Firdaous Issa, added that the hotel is fully booked for the period, with all rooms already booked. Once the WTO delegations depart, Concord International Hotel will turn its attention to preparations for the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Cameroon, scheduled from April 15 to 18, 2026.

Concord International Hotel officials told this reporter that as is the case with the World Trade Organisation conference, the facility has also been fully booked for the Pope’s visit.
