FEICOM DG communes with visiting Yaounde College Adventiste students.

FEICOM DG drilling visiting students on the importance of imbibing republican values

The Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM, last week played host to students of the Yaounde College Adventiste.

The Director General of FEICOM, Camille Philippe Akoa, told journalists after communing with the students and school officials that the final year students are aiming to specialise in the study of economic sciences.

The students were embarking on part of their course requirement that obliges them to visit and familiarise themselves with the functions of some prominent enterprises, establishments or other institutions of their choice.

Akoa said he drilled the students on the mission statement of FEICOM, with special focus on the educational activities the Fund carries out in its endeavour to promote quality education in the country.

“I reminded them that they were the Cameroonians of the future; which means that they have to imbibe republican values during their formative years,” Akoa stated.

He said what shocked him most was when he asked the best performing student of the class to come out for recognition and a tiny 16-year-old girl walked up to the podium.

“I congratulated her and encouraged her to keep up the fight to maintain her topmost position,” the Director General said.

He announced that his young visitors promised him that they will work hard to succeed in their end of course examinations, while striving to imbibe patriotic values as they aspire to become the leaders of tomorrow.

“We explained to them the missions of our institution, especially in the field of education. I reminded them that they are the Cameroon of tomorrow and will therefore have to convey the values of the nation,” Akoa said.
