To boost output: PMUC shares 35 million FCFA to sales agents nationwide.

Champions League challenge winners pose PMUC DG and officials

The staking company, Pari Mutuel Urbain Camerounais, PMUC, has shared the sum of 35 million FCFA to some 772 sales agents in order to boost their output. The sales agents have been awarded after emerging as winners of a sales challenge christened Champions League, organised yearly to boost their performances in the sales of PMUC

A solemn ceremony to award the prizes to some of the winners was organised at the PMUC Yaoundé Head-office on Monday, January 16.

 

The prize-award ceremony was presided over by the PMUC Director General, Paul Louis Tasso, in the presence of some top management officials and sale agents.

During the lavish event, 45-year-old Ngono Domithilde Marie was awarded as the overall winner of the 2022 Champions League challenge, while Amougou Parfait and Ntcha Marie Julie emerged second and third respectively.

 

Addressing the personnel, the PMUC DG said the company, through this Champion's League, aims to reward its agents for their professionalism and their involvement throughout the just ended year.

 

“PMUC, through this Champions League sales challenge, wanted to compensate our agents for their professionalism and dedication throughout the year. Today, we are giving out a global sum of 35 million FCFA across the country, but the winner gets 10 million FCFA,” Tasso said.

 

He further explained that besides the usual horse race betting, PMUC has diversified its offers and is encouraging the promotion and sales of all the products.

“PMUC no longer only concerns horse racing betting, it is a multi-product offer that also includes sports betting and those in the Loto sector. We have MCI, MS, Loto, Quinto, Big 10, Foot,” Tasso stated.

 

He added that “we are satisfied by this initiative especially with the fact that our sales agents are happy with it”.

According to PMUC Sales Director, Ernest Ndjamkeu, this is not the first time they are organising the challenge.

 

“This is the third edition of the challenge that PMUC has decided to compensate the devotion and sacrifices of the agents at work. So, this is a decision we engaged some years ago and we don’t intend to end this year,” Ndjamkeu told pressmen. “We have invented and adapted our offers and all these are due to the strong demands of client and agent bases,” he added.

 

The Director of Sales then assured that besides the sales of PMUC products, they are also concerned with the welfare of the sales agents and have made health insurance available for them. 

 

He also indicated that the winners of the Champions League sales challenge were sorted out following points obtained from the sales of various PMUC offers and classified according to the highest number of points.

 

Challenge winner express gratitude to management

After receiving her cheque of 10 million FCFA, Ngono Domithilde Marie expressed joy to have won the prize of the challenge.

 

“I am overwhelmed by this award. Honestly, I can’t find the right words to express my joy. I thank the Directorate General of PMUC for recognising me,” the 45-year-old sales agent at the PMUC Mimboman Agency said.  

 

Acknowledging the difficulty in meeting the target, the mother of two revealed that her motivation was her determination to succeed.

“I wanted to win the prize and worked towards it. I made personal efforts together with my team and we got it,” Ngono added.

 

Meanwhile, the 2022 edition of the Champions League sales challenge ran from November 1 to December 31, 2022.

With 1,049 sales agents nationwide partaking in the challenge, they were expected to accumulate points according to the sales realised daily for each group of PMUC products.

 

The sum of 35 million FCFA will be redistributed to the 772 sales agents countrywide. According to the ranking of results of the challenge, Yaounde covering Centre, South and East regions emerged first with 276 winners. Douala, covering Littoral and South West regions ranked second with 235 winners and Bafoussam, covering West and North West region with 174 winners.

 

The city of Maroua, covering Far North came fourth with 44 winners while Garoua, covering North and Adamawa regions, came at the bottom of the ranking with 43 winners.
