Elite of Mboka village and Director General of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilisation Fund, CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh, has offered a thanksgiving service in memory of his late father, Pa Okie Jackson Sinkle.

The three-day memorial thanksgiving service was organised in his native Mboka village, Nguti Subdivision, Kupe Muanenguba Division of the South West Region.

The event, held over the weekend, ran from January 9 to 11, 2026. It culminated Sunday at the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Mboka.

The thanksgiving service was marked by a Pontifical mass celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon, His Grace José Avelino Bettencourt.

This was in the presence of the Governors of the South West and North West Regions, college of Bishops, Members of Parliament, Director Generals, Board Chairpersons and a cross section of the people of Mboka.

Speaking at the close of the mass, Okie Johnson Ndoh, said he was very elated to have brought together the multitude of high- profile personalities to his home town in Mboka.

He thanked the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon, His Grace Avelino Bettencourt and the college of Bishops who attended the ceremony, describing it as the presence of Pope Leo XIV in Mboka.

Okie who is also National President of the Catholic Men Association, CMA, described his late father as a cheerful giver and a lover of his people.

He recalled his childhood days when they visited the village in 1973 and he saw for himself the untold suffering of the population.

Okie said from that day, he told himself he was going to work hard to bring solace to his people.

Okie described his childhood days as the things of God and even recalled how he used to trek from Laduma to Kumba just to attend doctrine classes.

He rejoiced that the sacrifices have paid off. Okie mentioned how he sacrificed his land for the construction of the Shrine Our lady of Fatima in Mboka.

The CMA national president challenged worshippers to remain steadfast in the things of God, noting God never fails those who trust in him.

In his words of gratitude to the parish and the Okie's family, the Bishop of Mamfe, His Lordship Abangolo Aloysius Fondong, thanked them for the continuous support and donation to the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Mamfe in particular.

The Bishop also expressed gratitude to them for the construction of the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.
