Emirati investment fund in Cameroon for week-long capital drive.

CEO of SGC Group of Companies Investment LLC, Muhammad Omar Faroooqi, speaking to reporters

An Emirati investment platform has begun a week-long economic mission to Cameroon. The mission is aimed at mobilising international financing for national development projects.

A delegation from SGC Group of Companies Investment LLC, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Muhammad Omar Faroooqi, is in Cameroon to hold talks with public and private sector stakeholders.

The mission is expected to last until January 12, 2026. The Dubai-based group specialises in financial structuring, investment engineering and capital mobilisation and is working in partnership with Cameroon to support the implementation of the National Development Strategy, NDS30.

The mission is being carried out under the institutional supervision of the services of the Prime Minister. According to the organisers, the initiative focuses on three main objectives.

Diversifying and securing sources of financing outside public budgets and traditional debt, accelerating the standardisation and financial closing of mature public and private projects and aligning Cameroonian projects with international requirements in governance, structuring, compliance and transparency.

During the visit, the SGC Investment LLC team is scheduled to meet Cameroonian authorities at ministerial, regional and municipal levels.

Discussions are also planned with private sector actors involved in project development and financing.

Among them is Prima Finance, identified as SGC Investment’s main local partner, whose operations are expected to be officially launched during the mission.

The organisers state that the mission is intended to support the mobilisation of structured, sustainable and transparent financing for the accelerated execution of Cameroon’s priority projects.

The efforts are expected to be consistent with international investment standards and practices. SGC Investment LLC plans to draw on its 25 years of experience in supporting states, public institutions and strategic companies.

The group provides financing solutions across short, medium and long terms, including letters of credit, bank guarantees and public-private partnership arrangements.

At the conclusion of the week-long programme, SGC Investment is expected to contribute to identifying and structuring funding mechanisms capable of supporting Cameroon’s development priorities while meeting international compliance and transparency benchmarks.
