Mixed Martial Arts Federation charts course for 2026.

Federation’s boss, Bertrand Olomo (middle), chairing meeting

The Cameroon Martial Arts Federation, and Affiliated Disciplines, FECAMMADA, has unveiled the roadmap for a thrilling 2026-year-long of activities and goals to meet. Officials made the projections on December 27, during its Ordinary General Assembly at the federation’s headquarters. The session took place in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education as well as staff and top management of the Federation.

It was the President of the Federation, Olomo Guy Bertrand who welcomed participants at the gathering, acknowledging the presence of government representatives and members. He went on to situate the meeting within the broader objective of strengthening the organisation and its affiliated disciplines.

One of the key items on the agenda was the adoption of the minutes of the 2023–2024 General Assembly. Members examined the document and, after observations, adopted it as a true reflection of past deliberations. This step paved the way for a review of activities carried out during the 2024–2025 period.

The Executive Bureau presented a detailed report on activities and finances for 2024–2025. The presentation focused on the federation’s administrative functioning, organisation of activities, and management of financial resources over the period under review. Delegates were briefed on income and expenditure, with emphasis on accountability and compliance with existing regulations. After discussions, the General Assembly adopted both the activity and financial reports.

Attention then turned to the future, with the presentation and adoption of the action plan for the 2025–2026 period. The plan, officials say, sets out the federation’s priorities for the coming year, including organisational consolidation, programming of activities, and measures aimed at improving coordination among member associations. The Assembly examined the proposed actions and endorsed them as the framework that will guide the federation’s operations as it moves into 2026.

FECAMMADA, it should be said is the umbrella body responsible for organising, regulating, and promoting martial arts disciplines in Cameroon. Operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the federation brings together various martial arts associations, ensuring compliance with national sports policies and international standards. Through its statutory meetings, including the Ordinary General Assembly, the federation reviews its performance, adopts strategic orientations, and reinforces governance mechanisms.

The federation’s mission is to regulate, organize, and promote MMA and related disciplines across the country. It supervises regional and departmental leagues, validates statutes and activities, and organizes competitions at national and international levels.

Leadership is currently headed by President Guy Bertrand Olomo, with Manga Asse Zogo Timothée serving as Secretary General, and Victor Mboussi Mpegna as the National Technical Director. The federation counts several affiliated associations and oversees events such as the Cameroon Cup, which caters to juniors and seniors, and the IMBGIM Fighting Championship, a professional MMA tournament. Amateur MMA is practiced under IMMAF standards, with reinforced safety measures such as protective gear, time limits, and restricted techniques.
