Graduating INJS students urged to be worthy Ambassadors of institution.

Some 166 graduating students of the National Institute of Youth and Sports, INJS, have been admonished to be worthy ambassadors of the institution by making positive impacts in society as they begin their professional career journey.

The Director of the prestigious state-run institution, Dr Ebal Minye Edmond, gave the advice on Friday, November 21, in Yaounde.



This was during a massively attended diploma award ceremony held on the campus of INJS in the Ngoa Ekelle neighbourhood. 

The ceremony marked the end of training for the Youth and Action Counsellors and Sports and Physical Education Teachers.

The graduation ceremony of the 2025 batch of trainees of institution, was attended by the representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, that of Sports and Physical Education and of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.

The Director of the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development, that of the National Advanced School of Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies, SUP’PTIC, as well as the Director of the National Football Academy, ANAFOOT, were also in attendance.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Director of INJS, Dr Ebal Minye Edmond, urged the graduating students to standout and be competitive wherever they are, insisting that they should never forget that they are winners.

He explained to his audience that Friday’s event was beyond a graduation ceremony but a moment to celebrate merit as well as academic and professional excellence.

He said the massive presence of members of the public, was prove of their commitment to the development of youth “which as you know, is a central priority for the government of Cameroon”.

Speaking further, Dr Ebal Minye congratulated staff members of the institution for moulding and preparing the trainees for the public service.

“For the students I know this day is a day of triumph,” the Director said advising them to be of good conduct as they begin their professional careers.

He insisted that: “As products of INJS, I challenge each and everyone of you, to promote the image of this prestigious institution through the quality of work you will do on the field. Become Ambassadors of INJS…”

Of the 166 students who graduated Friday, 41 of them graduated as senior youth and action counsellors. This included 11 private candidates, one intern from the Republic of Chad, one intern from the Defence Forces and 28 candidates destined for the Public Service.

For the Sports and Physical Education Teachers, 38 were declared successful including 14 private candidates, one tern from the Defence Forces and 23 candidates destine for the Public Service.

Meanwhile, 29 Assistant Youth and Action Counsellors were declared successful including one intern from the Defence Forces, 12 private candidates and 16 candidates destined for the Public Service. 58 assistant Sports and Physical Education Teachers graduated. They include one laureate for the Defence Forces, 43 private candidates and 14 candidates destined for the Public Service.

The National Institute for Youth and Sports, INJS, it should be said, was created in 1960. The state-run institution is a higher Professional Institute of Learning with a special status, with missions to ensure the higher professional training, continuous training and research applied in the domains of youth animation, leisure, civic education, sports and physical education.

The institute ensures the professional and university training of top personnel in the domains of the technics of animation, leisure and civic education and the recycling and perfectioning of personnel of the Public and Private Administrations.
