Kumba: Hon Tabot Lawson offers transformers to community, markets Biya.

Officials during campaign launch in Kumba I

The award-winning Hon Tabot Lawson Bakia, Member of Parliament, MP, for the Kumba Urban Constituency, has donated two transformers to communities to address electricity blackouts.

Hon Tabot, who is also CPDM Section President for Meme 1A, made the donation recently. He used the opportunity to also drum support for President Paul Biya ahead of Sunday’s presidential election.

The lawmaker said the CPDM party has past the stage of just mere words, insisting that it is a party of action. He challenged the population of Hausa Quarters, Fiango, and other areas, to always be patient because only the government can address their challenges.

Hon Tabot said Paul Biya is the person the population should cast their votes for, come October 12, given what he has done and what he plans to do for the population of Kumba.

Besides addressing electricity issues in Hausa Quarters and Ntoko Street, the MP said other neighbourhoods such as Kosala and Kumba Town will benefit from the same largesse in the coming days.

Proximity campaigns for Biya

It is important to indicate that last Sunday, the Member of Parliament took part in the launch of communal campaigns for Biya in Kumba I Subdivision. He noted that President Paul Biya has never lost election in the area, insisting that this time will not be different.

Hon Tabot urged the people to bury their differences and work to ensure victory for Biya. The MP cited his election into the bureau of the National Assembly, appointment of sons and daughters of the Subdivision to posts of responsibility, especially that of Zacheus Bakoma Elango as President of the South West Regional Assembly.

The MP mentioned the construction of a hemodialysis centre at the Kumba Regional Hospital Annex, construction of the Kumba-Mamfe Road and the Kumba-Ekondo-Titi Road under construction, as results of Biya’s work in the last seven years.

Speaking at the event, Senator Nfon Mukete IV described politics as a game of interest. He appealed to the population to vote for President Paul Biya, given the benefits that Kumba has made from his leadership in addition to what is still expected.

The Nfon called for unity amongst the population to ensure massive victory for the incumbent Head of State. To the Bafaw Monarch, change is good but the timing is important.

“…if we vote the CPDM, it will be our own way to say Thank You to Biya for appointing our sons and daughters to posts of responsibility and who knows, maybe Meme Division may have its own minister,” Nfon Mukete stated.

In attendance were the President of the South West Regional Assembly, Zacheus Bakomo Elango; the Divisional Coordinator of the CPDM in Meme, Benjamin Mutanga Itoe; the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Meme, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong and the former MP for Kumba, Hon Abel Mukete among others.
