The effervescence raised by the recent visit to the North West Region by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Joseph, during which he inaugurated the Bamenda-Babadjou Road and laid foundation stones for numerous road construction projects within Bamenda, is far from fading out.

Accolades have been coming in from left, right and centre and showered on the Head of State, President Paul Biya, and his envoy, PM Dion Ngute, for the laudable road construction projects to kick-start within the City of Bamenda.

One of such compliments is from renowned business tycoon and seasoned philanthropist, Edison Fru Ndi.

Edison Fru Ndi, Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Dreamland Connect, who also doubles as North West Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce, in a recent write-up, described the Prime Minister’s outing as a blessing for the people of the Region.

“I warmly welcome the Prime Minister’s visit to our Region, accompanied by the Ministers of Public Works and Urban Affairs. Their presence and the inauguration of numerous road projects are not only a strong political signal, but also a practical commitment to laying the foundations for sustainable economic growth,” Edison Fru Ndi wrote.

He added that: “Good roads and modern urban infrastructure are the lifelines of commerce. They ease the movements of goods and services, reduce transport costs, open up markets for our local businesses, and make our Region more attractive to investors. For too long, poor infrastructure has slowed down our entrepreneurs; today, with these projects, we can clearly say that government is giving oxygen to the private sector”.

“On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, I appreciate these efforts and encourage all economic operators in the North West Region to seize this momentum. Together, with resilience and vision, we can transform these projects into real engines of prosperity for our people,” Edison Fru Ndi noted.

It should be recalled that during the visit, which began last Wednesday, the PM first inaugurated the over 35km Babadjou-Bamenda Road, a key stretch linking the West and North West Regions.

The PM then proceeded to launch construction works for the long-awaited Bamenda Urban Crossing, a major project aimed at easing mobility within the North West Regional capital.

The 6.5 km road network worth will span key junctions in the city, including: Amour Mezam Junction-Finance Junction-Veterinary Junction-T-Junction-Hospital-Roundabout-Food Market-City Chemist Roundabout-Veterinary Junction.

The Prime Minister and his entourage also took part in a brief session at the North West Regional Assembly. The session featured presentations on the French Debt Relief and Development Contracts, C2D; Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and Ministry of Public Works projects in the Region.
